     The girl seemed almost in awe at something Aaron regarded as trivial. He lifted his eyebrows, faintly amused. “It’s a fucking sign.” He scoffed. “What’s it gonna do–arrest me?” And it wasn’t as if there were any busybodies around, keeping vigilant watch for offenders. 

     He gave no fucks about it and took another draw on the cigarette.

She narrowed her eyes, tilting her head to the side as she thought about his question. Well, he was right. The sign couldn’t arrest him, but he clearly didn’t seem to fret about any authorities coming to arrest him.

Jocelyn gave a shrug. “I - I don’t see people disregarding the rules that often. Why don’t you care?”

He glanced back at the sign posted behind him. No smoking, huh?

     Oh fucking well.

     Aaron brought his cigarette up to his lips for another drag and ignored the warning entirely.

    “What?”

Jocelyn hadn’t realized she was staring until the man spoke. With widened eyes, her mouth grew dry as she tried to find the words to respond. Jesus, getting further and further away from her home really set her up to meet interesting people.

“N-nothing,” she shook her head, “I’ve never seen anyone who didn’t seem to... care about what signs say.”

          “Uh, hello?” Danny leaned into Oliver’s line of sight after noticing how obviously he was spacing out. “Earth to Oliver – you alright dude? Or was my story just that boring?”
