I have a question... how is Elliot's dislike for Gary expressed, and is it somehow connected with jealousy? (in the form of Michael, Idk.)
Elliot isn't really the jealous type. He mostly dislikes Gary for his unpleasant behavior and overall negative attitude. Of course, he also isn't a fan of how Gary handled his situation with Michael, but that's their business, not his.
Gary doesn't lend himself any help, though. If he knows someone doesn't like him, he defaults to a "good, I'll make sure it stays that way," kind of attitude. Elliot gets this pissy treatment progressively more often the more he finds himself by Bonnie and Michael's side, and the more they connect as friends. This is because unlike Elliot, Gary is very much prone to jealously.
When it comes to expression, Elliot doesn't normally try to make it known when he dislikes somebody. It isn't often he deeply dislikes any one person, and he prefers to keep things light. He does not believe expressing his distaste for Gary outright would have any benefit for the group or the mission.
He does it in passive ways, though. A safe way to vibe check Gary is to rope Rachel into the mix. Gary cannot keep his foul attitude up when Rachel, immune to the stank of his soul, chews through him. Elliot tries to navigate his interactions with Gary with Rachel involved, and if this isn't possible, Bonnie is a reliable back up, because she doesn't tolerate his b.s. and Gary knows that.
Sometimes Gary actively goes out of his way to start something with Elliot, though. There are fights he cannot avoid, and in these moments he has to resort to using magic to force him to back off. He also does this to Gary whenever he's about to pick a fight with someone else who doesn't deserve it, hence that doodle in the top corner of the latest doodle page. This often enrages Gary though, and it only delays the inevitable.
In private settings Elliot may express his gripes with Gary to his friends like Bonnie, Lauren, Michael, Rachel, who all understand, but he rarely badmouths him if he doesn't need to. Negativity is a heavy weight to carry, and he doesn't have the muscle to carry it often.
