“Thought so.” Stiles told him. “Also my cousin is here, and he just happens to be another new werewolf.”

“Well if he’s your cousin, I doubt he plans to turn on any of us any time soon.”

“I don’t know. Apparently Dolch did something to Dan, Stiles’ cousins are here.”

“Any idea what he did to Dan? And why would I care about Stiles’ cousins?”

“Or because you don’t know there’s a new hybrid in town. Or that there is random creatures going after people now. You don’t know what’s happening here. You say you do, but you don’t.”

Derek was stunned silent. He went to say something, but stopped short. He thought what he had been doing was life-changing for Beacon Hills, but really he didn’t have any idea what was happening.

“I’m going home.”

“Because you know I have a valid point and you’re too stubborn to admit it?”

“Don’t worry, not gonna try.”

“Good to know. Has anything happened since I’ve been gone?”

“Whatever. I bet tomorrow you’ll end up being gone anyways

“I’ll be gone tomorrow if I have a reason to be gone tomorrow. Morgan and I were gone because we had things we had to do for you and for the pack. What, do you want me to apologize for protecting you all?”

“I didn’t even ask anything.”

“I’m just making sure you don’t.”

“Nothing you’ve done since you’ve been gone has helped.”

“Did you ever stop to think that that’s because you haven’t noticed you were even in danger? Because I prevented it from even happening in the first place?”

“You being gone at all doesn’t help anyone.”

“You don’t think I know that? Don’t you think I’m trying? I’m doing what I have to do for the pack.”

“Knowing you you’ll probably leave again, so stop coming and going. Stay or leave.”

“You guys would all be dead by next Tuesday if I left for good. If not because of some supernatural attack, then because of lack of time with Talia.”

“Friend or not, he isn’t getting Talia back. He didn’t want her before so if he wants her now, he’ll have to be really really convincing. Who did we know? Stop making me guess, it’s stressing me out even more.”

“Her father? As in, the guy that got Kaycen knocked up? He hasn’t been anywhere near her has he? And what do you mean not recently? Who got hurt?”

“That wasn’t my intention.”

“Who might this someone be? Did anyone get hurt?”

“I was looking for someone. That’s really all you need to know.”
