found this interesting article from The Banner on the Mangione family. since some of the things mentioned are already pretty known, i’ll make mention here below of some of the less known/discussed stuff.

• the Mangione family has supported for decades the Greater Baltimore Medical Center, with them donating over 1$ million to the hospital. From 1983, every one of Nick Mangione’s grandchildren, including Luigi, was born at GMBC. article also cites a family member’s statement on this tradition: “It becomes subconscious. Delivering at GBMC is not even a thought.” Due to the family’s longstanding support the hospital has a unit named after the Mangione’s ( the high-risk obstetrics unit)

• Louis Mangione ( Luigi’s father), along with his brother John, is described as the point person for the Mangione Family Enterprises. article also mentions that both of the brothers are civil engineers.

• Loyola University’s pools are named after the Mangione. six of ten of Nick Mangione’s children have attended the university and several have excelled in soccer, especially Nick Mangione jr and Sam Mangione.

• In 1988 Turf valley ( the family’s country club) made headlines because Nick Mangione’s nephew, who was also Turf Valley’s manager, left a message using a racial slur on a NAACP member’s answering machine. at the time Nick Mangione fired him but later decided to rehire him as an assistant manager. (ig nino’s views aren’t born out of nowhere..)

I think once he’s released he’ll move to Mexico under a new alias, find a wife and start a family there. I cannot see him living in the U.S anymore, too many people would recognize him. Mexico is close to the U.S so he can always visit his family whenever he’d like and the slower pace of life in Mexico would suit him better because he’ll be old

hmm i don’t know anon. i can see him either living the way you say (will also add that if he wants to have a low profile i would specifically see him in a LatAm country so maybe Mexico like you say and in south/east Asia) or deciding to be outspoken about the healthcare industry. all the hype surrounding his case will obviously die down in the next decades but once he’s released that will spark attention again and he might want to get his ideas out there. i say this because he seems like he really wants to change things, so maybe he’ll become a podcast/big advocate guy. and since he likes to help others he might start a foundation to help those in need of medical assistance in the U.S.

or he might be too consumed by the end of his sentence to even care at all 🤷🏽‍♀️

tbh i don’t know why she “switched up” on them, i didn’t even know they were cool with each other like that before which is why i was surprised to see that one group pic lol.

what i do know is that she started out as a supporter and then distanced herself from all of that when she became a reporter on the case. i don’t think it’s a problem that she did this actually, as long as you’re professional about it who cares about your personal feelings on the case. but, like i said in another post, i think she’s way too involved with some of the supporters and i don’t know why she moves the way she does. to me it’s either admit that you were a supporter at one point and work with that or just ignore all of that and move forward but she’s handling this in a way where she tries to ignore while simultaneously also doing things that are clearly personal. (ie: requesting no public access due to jury tampering).
