13: With a pet.

Winger wasn’t the most affectionate of people- in fact, the labels “emotionally stunted” and “extremely poor at expressing emotion” were uncomfortably close to the truth. Around people, at least. Skags were easier to get along with. Just as likely to bite a chunk out of your arm, but at least they’d do it without malice. Usually.

When the stranger broke into Winger’s room, he would find the Deputy-turned-Sheriff sitting in a high-backed chair, feet kicked up on the back of an enormous Alpha skag lying peacefully on the floor. Small crackles of eletricity skittered across the floor with each exhale the huge beast heaved, a clear display of its elemental charge. 

For his part, Winger appeared entirely apathetic. He tipped up his hat with the barrel of a revolver, giving the blond stranger a supremely unconcerned look.

“What.”

✭It had certainly been a while since Brick had caught back up with Winger. That said it was nearly a sad thing that they had to catch up under such circumstances. There was a serious set to larger man’s face as he studied over the other man—grim but calculating—before he spoke up again. “Couple your boys got one of mine. Wunna to propose a trade to get him back.” It was safe to say he really didn’t like this—the slabs didn’t currently have any of the other man’s men captured to trade off that way and staging an attack on Lynchwood just to get him back could very well get him killed anyway. Diplomacy really wasn’t the berserker’s strong suit at all but he’d give it a shot in this case considering he knew him to be a reasonable enough man unlike most of the rabble here. Rocko was a good man that he did rely on (sometimes pretty heavily) and he darn well wanted the wayward lieutenant back.

Winger's expression was distinctly sour. Sure, Brick had essentially orchestrated the events that had led to the Sheriff's death. He had also destroyed rather important functions and buildings of Lynchwood, removed the protection they'd enjoyed from Handsome Jack and his gigantic laser, and caused the deaths of more than a few members of the Sheriff's posse. Nearly gotten him killed by his rabid pet Vault Hunters, too. 

Overall, things just barely cancelled each other out, but that didn't mean Winger had to be particularly friendly. Brawny arms folded over his chest as he stared up at Brick, letting out a humph when he'd spoken.

"Huh. First off, what has one'a yer boys done t' make mah boys bring him in? Second, what d'ya got t' trade?"

Steam rose from Winger's slightly reddened skin in swirling hot tendrils, made heated and damp by a hot shower. Strands of sparse, dark hair matted to his skin, beads of water still rolling down his muscular, bulky form. A fluffy white towel was wrapped around his waist, just about preserving his modesty while the Deputy ruffled his chestnut hair dry with a second towel.

At the sound of an opening door, Winger dropped the towel instantly and settled a hand on the butt of his revolver, giving the intruder a flat look. Knees parted slightly so that he was ready to stand, unraveling the towel just a tad so that it was in danger of falling.
