Kairi was dying of laughter inside but on the outside his expression matched the strangers around him as the girl seemed to be bumped by nothing at all. As she approached, he feigned his best innocent look - the one journalists loved to see when he would answer questions after a swim meet. “Uh, I’m sorry?” He asked, pretending to not know what she’s talking about. “Are you ok, miss? Do you need me to call someone? You’ve been yelling at nothing.”

“yeah, he’s that guy.” Hagen was sure that was the ‘guy with the glasses’ she was referring to at least. “he’s pretty great. it’s not just Elton john though, I’ve got like Heart, Ah-Ha, Weezer, and some others on it too.”

Cade stared at her for a long moment, wondering if that was the truth before remembering she was fae, like him, which meant she couldn’t lie. “I had to go into hiding. I have a spell concealing my home so the Hunt can’t find me. It …” He paused, stepping closer to her. “It’s very important that they don’t find me, Denny. Please, don’t tell them where I am.”

“Oh umm” Hagen looked down at the walkman for a moment as if the answer was going to be written on the device. “Elton John. It’s a mixtape, so it’s not all Elton, just the song I was on. Take Me to the Pilot. The son- that’s the song that was on.”

“why should i apologize for bumping into you when you’re not going to apologize for bumping into me? again-you could have easily avoided me. so why must i apologize when you’re the one making a big deal out of, really, nothing.” anastasia shook her head. “clearly you only want to listen to yourself, but let me tell you, being stubborn and being rude…will get you nowhere.”

His eyebrow arched as he took in the stranger who he bumped into. Most people tend to move out of his way, but this one seemed to dense to notice him before it was too late. His infamous fox grin spread across his face - she seemed to have a short fuse and Kairi loved igniting the match. “I’m sorry, it won’t happen again.” He bows his head slightly then rushes off, his eyes turning blue as soon as he turns away.

In moments he creates illusions of himself - each one in a different outfit that the other. The first, dressed in a suit, crossed the girl’s left, bumping into them with his suitcase. “So sorry!” He shouts, making sure they see his face. Then another in joggers bump into them from behind. “My bad!” He yells, not bothering to remove his ear pod. Another riding a bike manages to get his back wheel over her foot. “Terribly sorry!” he says, although he lets a smirk slip across his way as he peddles away.

Cade stopped his in his tracks, doing a double take. It couldn’t be her, but here she was … in Wildemount. Did that mean the king was here too? Or was she on her own? Why would she be on her own?

“Denny? is that you? What are you doing here?” he asked, taking a step closer to her.

the witch blinked for a moment before opening her eyes and relaxing that this girl probably wasn’t joking. “have you ever properly walked on a sidewalk with other people in walking the other direction? you kindly move to the side to make room.” she held up her hands for a moment to stop herself. “this was a two way issue. you could have avoided me as well, you know that right? so why are you projecting your damn snotty attitude onto others?” 

Hagen had looked down for a moment to press the fast forward button on his walkman, having finally gone to the store for new batteries. It had only been a few seconds, but in the time he’d bumped into someone, and before he could say anything the other was expressing her anger over the situation. “I’m sorry” he said, pushing the headphones down off his head so that they sat around his neck. As much as he wasn’t sure he deserved this much wrath, he had bumped into her, even if accidentally. “I just looked down for a moment. I usually don’t walk into people or things, well, there was that one time I walked into a wall, but in my defense it did come out of nowhere. Are you okay?”
