August 23, 2013—Redwood City, California—The California Highway Patrol has released its findings that the deaths of five women in May in a limousine fire were due to mechanical failure of the car and not to the driver’s actions. Authorities have stated that they will not charge the driver, who has been accused of making a cell phone call and ignoring the cries for help from the women in the back of the limo. Two doctors at the University of California, Davis, injected three patients with bowel bacteria in a last-ditch effort to save them from malignant brain tumors.  While the doctors claim they had permission from the patients to try to controversial and unapproved treatment, officials concluded that their actions violated the code of conduct in place at the school after one patient died of sepsis, prompting an investigation. The police were forced to shoot a pack of pit bulls that allegedly mauled two people in Kern County.  The attacks occurred on a fenced property where the pit bulls were housed in Oildale.  A man searching for his son entered the property, apparently with another woman, and was confronted by the three dogs.  A neighbor said he heard screams and rushed over to find the dogs mauling a man and a woman.  Police arrived to find the victims on the ground. Any skill requires experience in order for someone to become an expert at it or even competent. Doctors Hospital in Modesto has become the focus of a lawsuit concerning tainted baby formula. Sheila Vega has filed a lawsuit against the hospital claiming that her newborn daughter, Skylin, contracted salmonella while in the hospital’s neonatal unit.  Skylin is now 15 months old but is still testing positive for the bacteria.
