I did not feel an ounce of regret turning off Ralsei in Chapter 5. The prince seem to went at great lengths to make sure the soul is out of the loop with decreasing subtlety. So...If the Prince didn't want to communicate, I obliged. Yeah, Yeah, Captain Cardigan undid it one puzzle later... I really disliked the fact we got drips of lore this chapter, but learning the origins of Shadow Crystals being lost dreams was a nice compensation.

ok this is pissing me off bc no we did not get DRIPS of lore. we are all too theorybrained to realize that people who are not deep in fandom did not explicitly know dess was taken in a dark world or that asgore was connected to it until this chapter. that is a HUGE reveal no matter how you slice it. i have no idea where this idea that there was no lore this chapter even comes from. we got CONFIRMATION that the menus are diagetic. we got undertale lore. we got the end of the eggs. we got the shadow crystal explanation. we got the festival. we got character development and regression. we got the end of the weird route. we got our very first explicit hint for chapter 7 what fucking lack of lore are you guys talking about genuinely

Ruby dying would add literally nothing of value to the story.

Deltarune, as far as we know, is a game that canonically takes place in a week. While Ruby is still extremely sick, we still see he is able to walk/talk fine. He's weakly but not on deaths doorstep.

But add noelle into the equation, and that's when, from a storytelling perspective, things get really messy.

Noelle has enough on her plate. her sister went missing when she was presumably a small child, and her mother is shown to be somewhat mentally abusive. And Im not even talking about weird route!!

I could talk about this for hours, but I'm trying to keep it short(ish). What Carol is up to or if Dess is safe seems more likely on Tobys' agenda. Noelle grieved for her dad when she's LITTEARLLY part of a prophecy would rub me the wrong way. WE DONT HAVE TIME FOR THAT!! Just because he died in Undertale doesn't mean he needs to die in deltarune.
