The #BestBirthdayEver really kicked off with a double bill at the Hollywood Bowl featuring Ben Folds and Elvis Costello.  Great show, beautiful night, wonderful time thanks to Sara (who put it all together).

Welcome to the world, nephew #2! The adorable Evan Jasper Dellinger (son of Steve and Theresa, first of his name, etcetera and so forth...).

The most ironic thing about rising inequality is how completely unnecessary and self-defeating it is. If we do something about it, if we adjust our policies in the way that, say, Franklin D. Roosevelt did during the Great Depression—so that we help the 99 percent and preempt the revolutionaries and crazies, the ones with the pitchforks—that will be the best thing possible for us rich folks, too.

Magnetically drawn to thrones whose power is solely symbolic, Queen Elizabeth II visited another prop monarchy—one that similarly enthralls millions who are mostly in it for the sex—by dropping by the Belfast set of Game Of Thrones.
