Okay inheritance nation somehow i survived TFTWATW and we are IN IT now. I'm like three pages in and already photosynthesizing it's gonna be bad

First of all. THORN IS A SILLY GUYYY HE'S SILLY OH MY GOD I KNEW ITTTT and murtagh absolutely shocked that this depressed young dragon who was tortured straight out of the egg developed a sharp sense of humour. Girl that's a gen Z individual for you 🫵🏻🫵🏻

Also he's clockinggg murtagh with nasuada. HE'S SO US. Thorn was made for the peopleeee and when he suggests he and murtagh disguise as eragon and saphira LMFAOOO okayyyyyy the silly is speaking!!!!!

I really hope he gets as much space as saphira did in the original books, i wanna hear every single one of his opinions, let him be a fierce smart funny dragon. He's Saphira's loser little cousin after all (things i just made up)

Another thing that made me rip my hair out is the yearning spiral as soon as Nasuada is BRIEFLY mentioned. Oh my god the yearnism runs so deeply in that family, i got spoiled the final scene (i mean, i know she's in it but I don't know what happens) but damn if you needed confirmation that murtagh is SERIOUS about nasuada those first two pages are there for you

So the book starts with the episode in Ceunon, strange choice but I guess it's necessary to really grasp the plot. Also i thought murtagh and thorn were going to be loners in the north regions outside of alagaësia but no they are still in the kingdom being emo, love that for them!!!

My issue with how murtagh and arya, as riders, end their stories in inheritance still stands though. I mean, i firmly believe arya becoming queen was very anticlimatic to her character and everything she did and said and lowkey it was just a plot device to keep her in alagaësia and not join eragon (that hug they will share in book 28 coming out in 2087 is gonna hit like crack tho).

For murtagh it's the same. I mean i know he's pretty hated by everyone, but why stay in alagaesia? I'm pretty sure the gang that followed saphira and eragon (eldunarì+ elves mostly) would definitely understand what happened to them and that they were forced to serve galbatorix, they would be a great help for the new generation of riders so idk. IDK GUYS OK i just want my blorbos in one space

And again i don't know what happens in this book so it's very possible they do join eragon and saphira after a life changing trip with zuko around alagaësia and I'm just being bitchy for no reason lmaoooo
