The sort of people to get angry over such things were those that were proud of their superiority - and in rare cases, sociopaths. Idate happened to fit that category quite nicely, he could keep all the social relations in the world but he was still dysfunctional.

So he does what he feels is reasonable - after all, she was just a stupid fish. A dumb fish trying to play big because she was a big scary Apex Predator - except for the fact that Killer Whales hunted Great Whites when they were presented.

And what is reasonable to Idate?

   Well, she not going to give him what he wants by making a sound or doing anything, she just going to lay there and think about how could she get back at him
