Michael Lavander | The Creation

| “Michael Lavander appeared like a spectre, poorly hewn into the likeness of a man. not a body born, but one assembled.

Every line of him betrayed the incompletion of his form. Muscles strained as if fighting to hold themselves together, skin drawn tight over scars, seams that seemed to smoulder.

There was a sense of unfinished perfection about him, as though he had been hastily moulded by brutal hands, left suspended somewhere between life and nothingness. His frame was a collage of fragments, a manuscript patched together, a memory of flesh forced to stand upright.

Beneath that fragile mask of youth lived the horror of what should never have been. His face was too delicate to disguise the violence of its making, too beautiful not to appear false. His skin, smooth and unmoving, neither perspired nor breathed, nor bore warmth. marble worn down, polished by absence. In his violet eyes, the light was not life but wound, raw fissures reflecting the darkness rather than dispersing it.
