First of all, if you’re one of the many kind, curious, thoughtful, or just delightfully unhinged people who hang out here: I love you. You’re the reason this space feels like a corner of the internet I actually want to be in.

That said…

If you’re planning to come into my inbox a little sideways — with suspicion, accusations, or recycled anti talking points — here’s a few things you should probably know first:

I love both Harry and Louis.

Not one more than the other. Not one because of the other. Just… both. Deeply. For their own reasons. For their music. For their growth. For their weird jokes. For their resilience. For their softness. For their chaos.

If Larry didn’t exist — I’d still be here. Still a Louie. Still a Harrie. Still annoying about both of them in equal measure.

I do believe they love each other.

Romantically? Yes — I believe so. But even if I’m wrong (I’m not, but let’s entertain the thought), I still believe there is a deep, lasting, soul-level connection between them.

And no — it’s not just one gifset. It’s not a blink in an interview or a lyric taken out of context.

It’s:

Years of shared behaviors, interests, and timing.

Patterns of when they’re active vs when they disappear.

Lyrics that tell a story about a single great love — from an artist whose longest public relationship was only two years.

Symbolism, phrasing, and emotional continuity that spans five (and counting) albums.

Please don’t drop someone else’s baggage at my door.

I know this fandom has its messes. I’ve seen the drama. I’ve seen the bad takes. I’ve seen the chaos. But if someone else said something cruel, crossed a line, or made you feel some type of way — that’s their inbox, not mine.

no but in the billboard interview louis was talking about how bittersweet it is to watch other groups breaking one directions records.

for absolutely no reason, especially one that involves multiple storylines being pushed down your throat at once, here’s a short post about tabloid media literacy.

as a tabloid journalist (hypothetically, fictionally), my company makes money when you click on links and read stories. that’s it. that’s the job. my paycheck and career depend on traffic.

so i see a celebrity say something in an interview with another outlet. if i think it might be click-worthy, i’m going to run with it. whether or not that’s what the person actually meant in context.

i’ll take that quote, pair it with vaguely related things that have been said in the past, and stretch it into a few paragraphs so it qualifies as an article.

then my editor steps in. sometimes they say no (for legal reasons, or because they don’t want to risk losing access to information that person’s team occasionally provides.) sometimes they say yes. access absolutely matters.

in another scenario, i notice a celebrity moving kind of weird. i start asking around. eventually someone surfaces (maybe a friend of a "partner’s" family member, maybe someone who went to primary school with the celebrity. maybe the celebrities' grocery delivery driver. maybe someone adjacent enough that it technically counts.)

as long as i can label them a “source,” i have plausible deniability. i didn’t state it as fact. i reported what a source claimed. there are legal limits, but within those limits, a lot can be printed.

in another scenario, someone from someone’s team reaches out anonymously. it genuinely doesn’t matter whose team. maybe X says something that sounds like shade at Y. then Y’s "girlfriend's" camp confirms to me that it was shade. i run with it.

i don’t actually care what their motive is. but since they gave me information, i’ll probably throw in a favorable line about them so they keep talking to me.

and then there’s aggregation.

i work at a smaller outlet. there are five of us covering hundreds of celebrities. we don’t have time to generate original reporting for everything, so we wait for a bigger tabloid to publish, rewrite their story, cite them, and hit post.

now take one out-of-context quote or one bad source, and run it through this system.

it gets repeated. and repeated. and repeated.

i’ve spent years deciding what parts of me the world gets to see, because being fully visible was never safe. but i’ve decided it’s time you see some of them now.

aperture lets the light in.

an aperture controls how much light reaches the film. too much and the image is over-exposed. too little and it’s just darkness. i’ll let you see parts of me. but i’m choosing how much, and when.

it finally appears.

the thing that's been there the whole time becomes visible now. slowly. intentionally. a little at a time. like developing film.

its only love.

that’s the funny thing. how simple it actually is. not a scandal. not a secret worth destroying lives over. just love. the thing that was never the problem in the first place.

we belong together.
