MAYBE HE WAS MISTAKEN in his choice to drop by the library on the way to the greenhouse. it was the most logical choice given it barely changed his plans for the rest of the day and he avoided both clutter and getting some sort of demerit from returning the books late. win-win, right? at least, that was the initial plan in mind. jovan hadnât thought of including setbacks, like the wonderful attitude todayâs librarian assistant offered him. â duly noted. iâm not here to return the books, iâm here to see about avoiding any fines or penalties that i may incur tomorrow, or the day after. so, if you donât mind, delia, â he tilts his head, offering her a small, cordial smile. â i would really, really appreciate it if you could process these for me. â
okay, so maybe delia was taking things a bit to the extreme side. it was her fault that she was here in the first place. if she could just learn how to keep her mouth shut maybe she wouldnât end up in these kinds of situations. it wasnât above her however, to huff and puff while she was stuck here. âoh, great.â she rolled her eyes slowly with a taunting smile as she began the process of renewing his rentals. âyou know, you do have two weeks with these initially, but seeing as youâre still not done...â she started slowly, not lifting her eyes from the computer screen.Â
âmaybe i should set your renewal to four weeks.. you seem busy.â the words coming from her mouth seemed a bit nasty, but at the last second she lifted her eyes to meet his, a smile playing on the edge of her lips. she was only joking. she knew slightly of jovan, but had never really spoken to him. he wasnât deserving of her wrath just yet.Â
