Sipho's lips twitched into a genuine delighted smile as Domiel stepped through the door, his arms laden with sweet treats and as many books at the deity could carry. Sipho had long since stopped assuring Domiel that he did not need to butter him up with sugary goodness, knowing that he would be ignored anyway. He didn't mind. Last week he had been brought some fancy French pastry he couldn't remember the name of and today, the scent of something sweet and syrupy hit his nostrils before the books hit the counter. "You spoil me. And I'm sure everyone's nonna likes you."
He chuckled at his friend's enthusiastic ramblings. "Even if I didn't, I could easily create one. This is my shop after all." He thumbed opened one of the books, pouring gently over the pages with interest. Greek was not a language he spoke, though he knew several already and he mused that he may have some free time to learn. "Which kind are these, the 'everyone can read them if they read greek' kind, or the 'only if you know about the supernatural world' kind?" he asked, since he couldn't interpret them himself at that moment. Everyone was welcome in his store, but only those who weren't strictly human, or at all human, could venture to the bookstore upstairs, behind the 'appointments only' door.
"What is the point of life if you cannot spoil your friends? Besides, there are some nonna's that don't like me at all. I do my best to simply avoid them. There are only so many times one can beat about the head with a slipper before morale begins to fade." Domiel said as he began to sort the books into two piles for upstairs and downstairs usage. None of the Greek looked too old but he wasn't necessarily the best one to judge. After a point it all blended together. The passage of time was not the boss of him.
"Oh, there's a bit of both. Mostly things for everyone but then I didn't want the rest of us to feel left out. Not that many of us have the hankering for Greek literature in Greek, but what if the mood hits you know?" Dom didn't know why he felt the need to over-explain himself to Sipho who would most certainly have understood his intentions without half a lecture introduction, but he liked speaking with his friends.
