Definitely Not Eri

Ok now that the people who haven’t watched it are gone.

Mando fought his way to victory. He finally finished his mission. He delivered the child to the “race of enemy sorcerers.”

I’m not crying, I’m imitating a water fountain with my eyes, shut up.

Ok let’s state a few facts then get into theories and junk.

Fact number one, Din wields the Darksaber. This proves interesting because they said it can only be won in true battle. Bo-Katan seemed as though she was ready to fight Din for it right then.

Fact number 2, Din Showed his face. He took off his helmet for everyone to see just so Grogu could see his face before he left, possibly, forever. He didn’t care about his religion or the way he was raised, he saw nothing but Grogu and wanted Grogu to finally see his eyes before he left. This is one of the biggest character development arcs I’ve seen in a Star Wars production.

Fact number 3, strap in folks, LUKE SKYWALKER. IT WASNT MARK HAMILL BUT IT WAS STILL AN AMAZING PERFORMANCE. LUKE SKYWALKER ‘MR. I ONLY HAVE ONE HAND JUST LIKE MY FATHER’ SKYWALKER, ‘MR. I KISSED MY SISTER BEFORE I KNEW WE WERE RELATED’ SKYWALKER. HE HAD HIS GREEN LIGHTSABER FOR GOODNESS SAKE. THIS IS MAJOR, MAJOR, PLOT DEVELOPMENT.

Ok, now that I’ve gotten those facts out of the way let’s move on.

Season 3 theories, ideas, and hopes:

Personally, I hope in season 3 we get to see an older Grogu come back from his training.

I hope we see Din, relaxing for once in his life, with his friends by his side.

I had the idea that maybe, just maybe, Cara will offer him a place as a trainer or commander of some kind for the Republic.

This is a huge development in the Star Wars Lore.

After checking Wookieepedia, my go to place for Star Wars Information, we see that The Mandalorian is set in 9 ABY. It’s set five years after the emperor’s defeat in Return of the Jedi.

The current war during this time would be The New Republic Era. Which includes The Destruction of Luke Skywalker’s Jedi Academy in 28 ABY, which is where Kylo Ren comes in. If we are to believe what has been written on Wookieepedia then we must prepare for possible heartbreak in Season 3.

“Solo awakened and, believing his uncle was about to murder him, collapsed his room, trapping Luke in the debri. Solo raged outside the temple with his lightsaber pointing at it, and his eyes clouded with red before red storm clouds appeared in the clear sky. The storm erupted with lightning and razed the temple, killing all the students who were there.” -Wookieepedia

If this is true, unless Grogu happens to be out of the temple or with Din when this happens, it’s probable that Grogu may be one of the students killed in this outward burst of hatred.

Wooo, that was a bunch to write. Anyway time to go and rewatch the series until Season 3 in late 2021...

Spoilers for Mandalorian. I mean it. This has spoilers. If you keep reading it’s your own fault. You’ve been warned.

This is totally not an excuse to talk about my favorite show and characters... anyway let’s get into it.

Din Djarin has had an amazing character arc throughout season 1 and 2.

In episode 1, we opened and saw a cold hearted, angry, silent, paranoid Mandalorian. We didn’t even know his name at first, we simply called him Mando. Even without knowing his name we were drawn to him, the mystery being one of the key factors.

He took Baby Yoda, slowly becoming attached to the child, melting his cold heart. He began to feel again, emotions that weren’t just guilt or regret, he felt happiness and love.

He actually made friends, he opened himself up to people, he did these things for the kid.

He let a droid, a thing he swore he hated with ever fiber of his being, help him and see his face.

Let’s skip ahead to Season 2, after finding Ahsoka, he felt pride in Grogu after he used the force. He picked him up and held him, showing affection and enthusiasm in front of another person, which was very different than the stoic scary Mando we were used to.

When his ship blew up, he stood in the rubble looking around, imagine the thoughts running through his head.

Some ideas of the thoughts include, “I physically can’t do anything with this...”, “I let them take him...”, “I’m never going to see him again...”

Then, once finding out he get to Grogu, he took that risk. He called his friends for help, he knew what he was risking, he knew what they were risking by helping him.

And the biggest thing of all, He showed his face to other people. In that clone base, he knew the only chance to get the information he needed was by showing his face and he did. He was prepared to drop his reputation and religion to save his kid.

He didn’t tell anyone he showed his face either, he trusted the other man not to tell, look at how much he’s grown. The minute Grogu was in trouble, he threw all precautions to the wind, he sent a message to Moff Gideon’s Ship.

Let’s look at that last part again. He sent a message to Moff Gideon. Threatening him. Telling him he was going to take back his child, period. He sent the message to Moff Gideon personally. He has shown Moff Gideon that he knows exactly where they are and is bringing the fight to him.

This character arc has been one of my absolute favorite things to watch.

We started with a cold hearted bounty hunter to a pissed off father in 2 seasons.

We discovered so many flaws that Mando had, he became such a real character so early on, I can’t help but love his story.

Pedro Pascal plays him amazingly, Jon Favreau directed it with style, and it’s overall just an amazing show and I can’t stop watching.

I love checking every Friday for a new episode and having to wait months for a new season got harder as it progressed.
