Beyoncé delivers very powerful message on diversity.
on my period so here’s some things my mind needs to put somewhere and then forget about
1. “Christmas stress” seems tough, but also seems like what brown kids deal with every family or community get-together, because we treat everything like a damn feast. Women, and their daughters who “are young and can do these things” cook, clean, entertain guests, watch children - for upwards of 20 people sometimes every weekend. Seems like something we should realize if the “stress” is noteworthy enough for others this time of year.
2. I am literally sitting here printing ADHD articles every damn week because my mom and dad, two physicians, don’t have the frame of mind to realize how much it actually affects my life - and therefore their lives, because they depend on me so much, which makes it even harder. I got diagnosed and I get treatment but that’s not the end of having ADHD and I am so tired of ignoring it or hiding it for their nonsense reasons. I need their help and their consideration, and you’d think that would come easily since it’s their job to do so for literally thousands of patients. Or I need to get out of their house, like the “forgetful, ungrateful American” they think I am.
3. I’m sorry for letting a lot of people down. But I’m fixing as much of my life as I can and it’s a really challenging work in progress. I’m finding amazing resources that prove that I’m not just the shitty shitty person I blame myself for being, that I have a disorder that causes the problems I deal with everyday. I just feel bad about the collateral damage. I hope it isn’t too much. I love my friends and family a lot. I’m sorry I don’t always show it effectively enough. I just don’t have the strength all the time.
4. I feel weepy now. I think I will curl up in a little while.
5. I’m sorry that I have complained about such tiny things when the world is in chaos. I always feel guilty of self-centeredness and self-indulgence. I’m trying to get better so I can be a productive advocate in these terrifying years to come. But it’s taking so long and I’m sorry.

Today in History: December 14. The Bush shoeing incident
Happy bush shoeing anniversary :-) ❤️🎉
everybody is accountable for the fate of the people of aleppo at this hour. time is blood. call your russian and iranian embassies to voice your opposition to the bombings. call your congressional representative and ask them to support the end to the genocide. call your parliamentary representative and ask them to support the end to the genocide. organize protests and rallies and sit-ins. stay informed and inform those around you. listen to actual syrians speaking as they fight for their lives inside aleppo (not assadist propagandists). aleppo doesn’t truly “fall” until everybody in the world falls silent on the massacre. syrians’ desperate pleas for freedom and democracy are still viable until everybody in the world forgets about us. this extermination continues until the international community takes accountability for its continuing allowance and support for assad + collaborators’ actions. every single person’s voice counts. if the martyrs’ cries for freedom are not kept alive, they will have died in vain.
if you are in the united states, you can call the state department and the russian embassy right now to demand safe passage for syrians out of east aleppo
state department: +1 202-647-9572
russian embassy: +1-202-298-5700
does anyone have the numbers for Canada? I’m looking online but i get multiple numbers
@allthecanadianpolitics
Phone numbers for the Russian Embasy in Canada:
Phone numbers: (613) 235-43-41 and (613) 236-14-13.
If there’s any other important phone numbers that Canadians can call, let me know.
Here is a script:
“We are calling on you in the International Community to provide a safe passage out of Aleppo for the remaining 100,000 people.
“We know that the U.N. has a plan to get us out across the four kilometres of Western Aleppo to safety: with a few dozen buses and lorries we could all be evacuated in 24 hours. However, we need you to guarantee the safety of their workers and our own… We can not believe that the world’s most powerful countries cannot get 100,000 souls 4 kilometers to safety.”

A Muslim-owned restaurant is hosting free Christmas dinners for the homeless
Shish Restaurant, a Muslim-owned Turkish eatery in London, posted a flyer on their door promoting a free three-course Christmas dinner for the homeless and eldery.
“No one eats alone on Christmas Day,” the flyer said. “We are here to sit with you.”
According to BuzzFeed News, the restaurant staffers’ mission was simple: They just wanted to help people.
“We’re just helping people,” Hasan Masud, an employee at Shish, told BuzzFeed News. “Lots of people stay home alone for Christmas … They don’t need to. They can come here and have some fun.” Read more
