Hello there! I have been directed to you for questions about Oreo :3
I love the design al LOT! What are they? Lore? Can I make a little guy based off them? (Totally understandable if the answer to that last question is no)
Are they specific original species? Are there 'rules' the the design of a character from that species? Do they belong to a species at all?
Oh my goodness! My bad for taking so long to get to this lolll I've been a little busy ;-_-
So! first up I want to thank you! I also love my little boyo, he's my baby fr.
As for what he is, from the design you've seen, you've probably seen him when he was a zombie (where he looks like this). For simplicity I just use the mane Oreo for when I'm talking about him when he's an undead boyo.
But! When he's alive he's a majestic... kangaroo/rabbit hybrid (don't ask me how that works lol) named Elände. He (like all hybrids in his area of the universe) are humanoid. So think furries. Idk if i could say he belongs to a unique species besides that really, he's just my marsupial boy.
Bc imma be so fr i'm almost certain i just made him like i would a fursona- i do that a lot.

So that's my kangaroo boy- but if you're looking at "species" i suppose there are others! (although I don't have any pictures of them as zombies because it's not relevant in their lore lol)
I might make a post on them eventually i have a bunch of stuff i'm working on atm tho *big sadness*
Ok- if you wanna make a little dude based off of him I say go ahead! I would love to see what someone else does with this goofy boy. I'll be drawing/finding more of Oreo to post eventually so this probably won't be the last time you see him!
As for rules of the design... uh... i mean like i said before it's pretty much just a furry lol. But besides that I would say that you should make sure that on the zombo you have elements that elude to how they died. Other than that they have to have someone revive them... but not all of the way, that's how the zombies are formed (so not like traditional zombies where they have to bite you or whatever- Oreo doesn't even have a mouth!). But yeah they can be any any animal frfr.

When Elände was born, he was marked with the "mark of sacrifice" (as was custom for the tribe his parents were from). While his parents did want to follow the custom they could not handle the thought of killing their own child (well.. the father couldn't- his mother couldn't care less). He was never given a name and was left out in the desert to die.
Note: his earrings were also custom, all children were given them when they were born. Also! the mark is hidden underneath his hair- when he gets an undercut you can see it.
Ok well i'm not gonna explain all of this part but eventually after being helped and taken places he eventually was just left to go off on his own (think around age 4). That's when he was found by a bear... that I can't remember the name of.
This bear actually gave him the name Elände (which directly translates to misery, wretchedness, and poverty) building up his trust before he was brought in to work as a manual labor slave.
A lot of stuff happened here that I'm not going to go into- imma just say it wasn't fun and he has a lot of trauma and leave it at that for now.
Alr- how he died and why a zombie
So once Elände found a way to escape his little hell on... well not earth but you get it- he wandered in the forest for a long while. Eventually he found sprite- and this dude has the survival instincts of a potato or smth bc he tried to befriend this bird. (Now ik lore has been updated so this next part is probably bound to change bc idk how sprite would react now, im just going over what was planned before :3). Im pretty sure we said that one of sprites old cult members had a plan to take Elände away from sprite for... some reason idk. That worked obv and they tricked him into eating poison (honestly probably by making it the only thing available to him) and he died a really like... long and painful death.
Anyway! Then sprite came to the rescue! Only to find the dead decaying body of his... uh... little ray of sunshine that annoyed him laying there. Sprite doesnt like that and tries to revive him- bc he didnt master the magic it didnt work all of the way and BOOM oreo was born.
There's a lot that happens after this but I dont wanna get into it atm lol
