Back home they will never apologise. They either make another name for it so it sounds better, or change the policy and say we are always right and we always think three steps ahead (if say the original policy says do it for 100 percent, then when needed they will change it to 50 percent on paper, but in reality it will be implemented to 0 percent and sometimes it will even go to the opposite direction). Currently there is a trend online praising how one old policy actually benefited a lot of people, and by their standard I am indeed one of those people, but I'll never praise it because it is a very cruel policy. (My mum was actually very inconvenienced by it and always wanted to break it, but one of her friends, that she really admires for being very good at work and also life generally, actually worked on implementing it although not in my mum's workplace. It's just weird when I think about it.) There are actually many other proper ways to get similar results (although one can argue it couldn't do it in the same short period of time) but they did none of them and they are even doing the opposite now. Oh how much it pmo.
