Been recording music for an upcoming mixtape.

I wanted to get this out before social distancing truly ended. So here's a shitty demo.

Recording for our EP started today. Stay tuned.

A couple of months ago my band recorded some demos and released them on Soundcloud. In a couple of weeks we are going in the studio to start recording our EP. I'm pretty excited to put out the music we've been working on for the past year. I hope everyone enjoys it. Until then, here's our demo EP: Doing It For The Sake Of Doing it.

I put out a demo EP earlier this month with my band, Tonight's Entertainment. It's kinda cool. Got some sick tracks on it. Be on the look out for our next stuff.

And finally, 140%, the last song on the EP. This was a song Ryan used to play late at night on his acoustic. The hook really got me. This was a song that just clicked. We knew it was something special right from the start. Most people we've played our music for say this is our best song and I can see why. This was probably the easiest song to do for how fleshed out the acoustic already was. We actually used to do this song with another guitarist. He wrote a lead guitar part that made the song sound a bit poppier but it worked. Sadly he wasn't very reliable and never showed up to practice so that version will never come to be. Nevertheless, this song jams as a three piece.

Quite possibly the wildest track on the EP. There's no other track like this. I love you punk it is. I don't consider us to be a punk band but we very much have a punk attitude. This song will end up being our deepest of deep cuts. It's not a song we'll play often.

No Encore is very much a Ryan song. He used to play this song on acoustic late at night when I was trying to sleep. This one was an easy one to piece together. Everything came naturally. When it came to recording it, we did this and SLINKY both in the same day. They both feel a little rushed. But really we just want to get to this next group of songs. The goal is for use to record 2 more EPs this year and we've already made quite a bit of progress on the next EP.

Hanni Bune was the first song we wrote for this band that stuck. Back when we started, we would write something and almost instantly throw it out because we didn't like it. But I will say, this was a song that I was perfectly fine moving on from. It used to have a different second verse that I could not stand and couldn't figure out what to do with. But Ryan kept wanting to do it. He felt it was our first good song so we should keep it. Tried it again, and we got it working. The version we recorded sounds kinda lo-fi and I think it gives it that first song kinda charm.

I'm extremely proud of the music my band has been doing. We put out our first EP and have started working on the second, which has songs that we feel are much stronger. I know our music isn't going to be everyone's cup of tea and that's fine. I'm just proud that I wrote something I enjoy. This first song, This Is A Movement, Not A Party, came out of nowhere. It was one of those songs that just came from jamming out and really stuck. The song is noisy and explosive, easily the heaviest thing on the EP. It has the energy of something wanting to be heard.
