My home will be a home with no loud anger, no explosive rage, no slamming doors or breaking glass, no name calling, shaming or blackmail. My home will be gentle, it will be warm. It will keep my loved ones safe. No fear, no hurt and no worries.

healing is personal, subjective, and not inherently mandatory. you don’t need to heal to be respected. you don’t need to heal to be a good person. the medical model’s definition of healing is inaccessible to many people and it’s ok if it’s not something you can do!!

Also healing looks different to different people. One person may find that forgiving the people who hurt you helps you feel less pain. Someone else might be happier without forgiving. It doesn’t mean either is wrong.
