Back Story info: the story starts slightly before Twilight (human Embry), OC is 1 year older
Summary: Visiting the city where her Dad grew up in changed Liza's whole life.
Liza felt good as her Dad and her entered their family house. She was proud of herself for doing what she did today. Proud of herself for stepping over her anxiety and talking to the 3 teenage boys. Especially the talking to Embry made her feel good, when she talked to him she didn't feel uncomfortable or had any triggering thoughts.
Liza and Embry exchanged numbers once she went back to Forks with her Dad. She felt weirdly safe around him, it wasn't something that she felt before. It actually felt like that someone, other than her Dad, cared for her. Which was weird, since they only met some hours ago.
Embry didn't feel any different. It was weird for him to be comfortable around someone new, it was weird for him that someone actually wanted to talk to him, especially a girl. He wasn't popular in La Push, I mean yes, everyone knew everyone down there but that does not mean that everyone likes everyone down there. Embry and his Mom, Tiffany, a women from the Makah tribe live in the Quileute tribe for nearly 16 years now, it took the tribe some time to accept them. Mainly because of their, or better say Tiffany's history, she moved to La Push when she was pregnant with him, and it was assumed that she had left his father with the Makahs. She never told Embry who his Dad is, she never wanted to tell him who his Dad is.
Liza woke up later than usual the next morning. She and Embry texted for over four hours in the night. Talking about everything all over again. Making it impossible for her to fall asleep early.
It was all weird for her, she thought that maybe she will befriend Jacob or Quil really fast because they talked to her for the first 2 hours of walking trough La Push. Embry didn't really seem to care about her at that point. He only started talking to her once they were alone.
Today Liza and her Dad are visiting the Newton house to meet her cousin for the first time in nearly 10 years. She barely remembers him, thry weren't in contact over the past years even though they are the same age. But they just drifted apart after Liza visited for the last time. They were just children and couldn't really keep in contact even if they wanted to.
Entering the Newton's house, the first hing or rather say the first person Liza saw was a boy with blonde hair and light eyes, she assumed that he is Mike. Next to Mike was a woman with long dark red hair and light eyes, her uncle Michael was still holding the door open.
"Liza I haven't seen you since you were just a little girl, look at you! All grown up!" The woman told her who she assumed was Karen, her aunt.
"Yea hey" she smiled at her.
āMike do you remember Liza? Your cousin who lives in Miami!" Karen asked her son
"Oh yeah sure Hi" Mike clearly doesn't remember her at all the only thing he knew about her is that she had a lot of money and that she is from Miami, he didn't even remember her name.
"Let's go guys, talk, you guys are cousins, befriend each other!" Michael, Liza's uncle stated. Making Liza feel uncomfortable again. She felt more uncomfortable in the past two days here in Forks, than she ever did in Miami.
āHave you seen anything here in Forks yet?" Mike questioned the shy girl.
The both of them are in Mike's room, trying to get comfortable with each other but to be honest Liza was a little creeped out by Mike, he was weird not a bad weird just really weird in general, only talking about how everyone knows and loves him here in Forks. Who was he trying to impress?
āNo not really, I was in La Push yesterday." Liza mumbled, making it hard for Mike to understand what she was saying.
āOh cool, I actually plan to go there with some friends tomorrow, do you want to come with us?" Mike asked her, trying to make her feel a little more comfortable here in Forks. He knew that Forks is a boring city and he wanted to make her feel welcomed.
āSure" Liza didn't know what else she was supposed to say. No she didn't want to go with him but she was scared that the whole Situation would become even weirder if she would have said no.
āDo you already know anyone here?" Mike asked the blonde girl, who was standing in his door frame.
āI met some people down in La Push, I don't know if you know them tho" she responded, giving him a smile.
āOh I basically know everyone around here, what are they're names?" Mike asked, really impressed of himself.
The only thing that Liza thought right now was, that he was just getting weirder and weirder.
āTheir names are Jacob, Quil and Embry but they go to the school on the res, so you probably don't know them"
āOh yeah, the school on the res, that's a weird school if you're going to move here then you will have to go to school in Forks with me, I know everyone there. They would like you, since you're my cousin, you know?" Mike replied, giving her a bright smile.
āYeah sure but I plan to go back to Miami anyway so that won't matter" Liza replied to him, giving him yet another small smile.
Liza missed Embry, it was weird, she just met him yesterday. It was unusual for her to be drawn this much to a stranger or to someone in general. But they did talk for basically the whole night, so it made sense for Liza to check her phone every five minutes to see if there was a message from him, but sadly there was never one.
The same thing goes for Embry, he was sitting in his kitchen with his mother, Tiffany and their friends Billy Black and Jacob. Embry couldn't get off his phone, always hoping for a message from her. He wasn't sure if it would be too much if he would text her now, not wanting to scare her away, cause he creeps her out or somethings like that. He didn't want her to think of him like that, she was the first girl ever that gave him so much attention, he wasn't used to all of this and he definitely didn't want to fuck it all up with her. He somehow felt as if he knew Liza for years, as if they were friends for as long as he can remember, but he just met her yesterday.
Jacob was staring at the nervous Embry who sat across from him on the round kitchen table. Other than Liza, he was definitely creeped out by Embry's behavior. He was tapping his fingers on the table, then grabbing his phone again to take a glimpse at the screen and putting it back on the table. This went on for minutes, as if he was in a loop.
āEmbry outside, now." Jacob demanded from me. He was getting up from the brown chair in my kitchen, while I followed him like a lost puppy. Already at the door that leads out of the kitchen I turned around, walked back to the table to grab my phone, while Jake was watching me with raised eyebrows.
As we were standing outside of my house he was staring at me with crossed arm. I don't even know if he blinked. "What is going on with you?" he asked me, giving me a look of confusion.
"What do you mean with what's going on? Noting is going on, everything is fine." I started blubbering. He wasn't supposed to know that I was talking to Liza the whole night, yesterday evening he told me that he will try to get to know her better because he thinks that she was pretty and he is completely right with his thinking. Liza is absolutely beautiful, with her wavy blonde hair, her puppy dog brown eyes and her slightly freckled face.
"Why are you so nervous? What is going on on your phone?" he asked me even more confused. I obviously didn't gave him any answer, not knowing what I was supposed to say. Should I lie or should I be honest with him?
"Embry show me what is going on on your phone." He told me, as if it was an ordered. I hold my phone tightly in my hand while he was reaching out for it, then grabbing it from me after some second since I obviously didn't give it to him.
The second he was turning the black screen on, the notification sound went on, meaning someone has texted me. That would need to be Liza, the only people that normally text me were my Mom, who was inside the house and could easily come outside if she wanted or needed something, Quil, who really only messaged me when he wanted to play any computer game with me, wich usually happens at 12 at night and not 10 in the morning, he probably is still asleep right now and last but apparently not least is Jacob, who is standing not even 2 feet away from me and the look on his face just confirmed my suspicion.
"Hey, how are yo-" he started to read the message out loud, but before he could finish I took my phone back into my hand, turned my back to him and walked back into the kitchen. Ignoring his calls after me.
