Been getting into danmeis recently and Heaven Official's Blessing has really caught my heart. Especially these two goober and their whole absolutely adorable and enviable relationship.

This is Valerie Fairchild. Lux and Bea's cousin with an economics degree, a love for classic architecture and ghost stories/ghost hunting, active rock climber and hiker, and currently confused as to why an (admittedly cute) ghost in the local rundown manor wants to marry her so badly.

AU/AU Variation: The two halves that make up the ghost have somehow separated. And now, "Joseph" and Jack are both very unhappy about their other half trying to keep his girl/his sunshine from being influenced by one over the other.

TW: Gaslighting(?); yandere behavior

Jack: (voice low and soft) "This is what your grandpa used to do when you were little, right? Hold you in his arms and play with your hair to make you feel better? He'd call you his little storm cloud and said you could rain if you felt too heavy. (chuckles a little) So cute."

Lux: (thinking; eyes closed) 'How did he know? I... I don't think I ever told him that. Did I?'

Jack: "You were so sad when he died. A kid who lost someone she thought could hold up the whole world. Everybody tried but... Nothing they did or any amount of rain you cried ever really helped. And now, with everything else and having to deal with... him..."

Lux felt Jack hold her a little closer and tighter, a cold pressure weighing down on her as he alluded to a certain someone in an uncharacteristically spiteful way.

Lux: "My bathtime. My rules. It's been a long day and I'd like to relax a little. You're free to get out at any time."

R!J: "Like hell. I'm stayin' right here until you're done and I can get my revenge for you gettin' me wound up and makin' me wait."

Lux: "And I'm sure your revenge will be sweet for the both of us. Now. Would you like to wash my back, Grumpy Bear?"

"With her magic suitcase and compass, here comes Summer Night Lux! Cloudy Town's favorite visiting vagabond, glittering nightly travel extraordinaire, and very, very, very special friend (cough biggestcrush cough) of Sunny Day Jack!"

When I made this version of Lux if she was a part of Jack's show, I imagined her as kind of an Auntie Macasser, Snufkin, or Uncle Traveling Matt character. Someone the main character is very close to who travels away for long periods of time. A character who sends postcards or letters (or in person stories when she's visiting) to Jack all about her travels and helps kids learn about other cultures and concepts through them. A character who'd always come back to Cloudy Town for the summer to Jack's delight and leaves by summer's end to travel again to Jack's heartbreak.

Lux: "You know... When I asked you what you thought of my new nightgown, this isn't what I had in mind."

R!Jack: "Babe. This little number practically screams "Take me now." Did you really expect me to react any other way?"

Lux: *chuckles* "Come on, you big dork. I thought you wanted me to teach you how to use the computer today."

R!Jack: "Yeah, but... Now that I think about it, that can wait. Let's just be lazy today. Wouldn't that be more fun?"

Lux: "Maybe. But, I'm afraid that'll have to be a "no." Got a lot to do today, so come on. Time to get up."

R!Jack: "Breakin' my heart here, babe."

Lux: "You know, I'd believe that more if you weren't loving up on me right now."

My girl! The little lady (un)lucky enough to find Jack with some alternate outfits for her! While I like how she came out, I do think I could've done a little better with her.

And while I'm not as hyperfixated on the game now as I was during those initial months, I still do like the game and Jack himself a lot and look back on that time fondly. It introduced me to so many wonderful creators in the fandom that I became a big fan of in turn, introduced me to an artist that really inspired me with all their works other than SDJ, and it really got my creative spark going again in a way it hadn't been until that point.

These pieces are the majority of the works I made during these times. There was one I decided not to include since I wasn't confident in the piece being safe for my blog. It's nothing graphic or explicit, but I felt it better to be safe than sorry.
