He spends an inordinate amount of time trying to source energon for the hatchlings, and he still gets his audials chewed off by their caretaker when he returns.

Soundwave places the latest progress report on the arm of Megatron's makeshift throne. Day by day since his lord's return, Soundwave had been dutifully tracking how their forces had been recovering. The script was organized and color coded by priority; at the top in bright red was the Nemesis and her repairs. Listed underneath were actions being taken, the percentage of completion, and many other metrics. The rest of the list progressed in much the same way.

The meticulously concise communication was, at this point, a bare minimum expectation for Soundwave. He had been doing this for eons. It felt right to be doing it again.

"The daily report, my lord." Soundwave said, "Things are progressing well, but we still await the proper clearance to begin our hunt for the Autobots."

As he took a careful step back, Soundwave folded his hands together in front of him and bowed his head ever so slightly. Gaze averted, looking towards the floor; he would only look up when called upon. A paragon of piety and reverence- loyalty.

“Thank you, Soundwave,” Megatron rumbled, taking the report in hand.

Using another’s optics to see was far from ideal, but until they gathered the resources to facilitate his own repairs, he would have to make do. He felt Laserbeak shift on his shoulder, adjusting their shared view so that he did not have to hold the proffered report quite so awkwardly. As usual, it was expertly organised, and was a welcome familiarity on this strange new world.

Their situation was improving, but their faction remained divided, with heavy losses that could not be so easily filled. Even with the gift that resided within his chest, there was only so much he could do with fuel as limited as it was.

And then there was the matter of his right arm.

Megatron backstory! God, he suffered. What he went through must have been mind-breaking ;-; and seeing the Dark Matrix is so vindicating lmao; the way he healed Ravage last issue was just so similar to how the regular Matrix does it

Getting an actual reason for his mind-controlling powers is really nice. Also ties in with the cyclical nature of abuse; the Quintessons, to Megatron, to Starscream. Inflicting what he went though on an unwilling Starscream. Ugh, feelings.

I can't decide if by "third form" the Quintesson meant Megatron is a triple changer from that point on, or if his tank mode was replaced by the gun. Since the gun has treads, it could really go either way... Though we probably won't find out until he gets his right arm back, since a significant portion of either alt would be missing.

There are a number of reasons, including the fact I have more muse/motivation for him than the others and organisation has become a whole mess for me here.

TFA Megatron will remain here, and so will Skybound and Bayverse—unless anything changes for me there.

Over the coming days, I'll be queueing up things I want over on TFP Megatron's blog, including things written/drawn for me and ic things I'm particularly proud of.

Any ongoing threads with him will be moved over there and continued as normal. Same for any plotted/established relationships.
