This made me laugh.
Went to see the 'Senna' documentary by Asif Kapadia last night. It was an unexpectedly powerful and brilliant tribute to a fascinating man, which was not only thrilling, dramatic and moving but also charmingly funny at times. Â A must see for even those who aren't the greatest fans of motor sport.
(Amusingly, I was the only girl at the screening but there were plenty of sobs and sniffles towards the end of the film. None of which came from me...)
Häuser mit bunter Wäsche (Vorstadt II) / Houses with Laundry (Suburb II). Egon Schiele (1914)
Am  more than a little sad that this is permanently vanishing from the public sphere (its being sold by the Leopold Museum in Vienna  at Sotheby's Impressionist and Modern Evening Sale tonight for a mere £22 - 30 million!). It is breathtaking in person and positively vibrates with colour.

The Bauhaus Curriculum from 1923 (Woodcut) showing the idealised version of Walter Gropius' "cathedral" of design. The curriculum consisted of preliminary courses and practical training in workshops. The workshops were to be laboratories for developing models "ripe for mass production, implements typical of the present day".
currently researching Oum Kalthoum's jewellery that was sold a couple of years ago at auction. brought me back to my childhood, sitting listening with my father to her recordings and gazing at her album covers. i am as in awe of her now as i was then.
Chris Levine's Portrait of HRH Queen Elizabeth II entitled "Lightness of Being"
It's actually a hologram, but I love the colours as it is here...actually I just love the portrait full-stop!
Awesome animation of the heads of Franz Xaver Messerschmidt. This film can be seen at the Neue Galerie New York as part of the amazing Messerschmidt exhibition .This video art was created by Edward Rose and Nick Reynolds.

Totems by Donald Corey
Sometimes a visual reminder of our goals is just what we need in order to focus and really go after them. Donald Corey follows this philosophy, bringing us a series of Totems to help encourage us. Â As Corey puts it, "How can you 'package' ideals or qualities? Totems are an attempt to do just that. The cricket represents 'Luck', the spider 'Power' and the lightning bug, 'Creativity'."Â "The totems are traditional physical representation of these hard to possess and define qualities and traits. Placing these objects around the home or office, focus the user's attention and energy towards achieving these ideals."Â The bugs are 24K plated brass with Swarovski Crystal Elements and pure silver leaf and will be shown during Sydney Design 2010.

Homage to Bruno Munari
Ever since I stumbled across Thom Browne, nearly ten years ago, I have been slightly obsessed. One of the biggest disappointments in my life is that I am a girl and will never be able to wear his amazing clothes.
The seat of the French Communist Party was the venue of Thom Browne's S/S 2011 collection where his models wore retro astronaut suits which were peeled of to reveal the collection. Its was his first show in Paris. Awesome.Â
