22.12.2024 (KST): TwoSet Livestream Summary
They started by apologising to everyone in Europe for the late stream time. They explained that it will be a long session, everyone can ask whatever they want, and we should all go and get bubble tea. They then asked the chat what they should order and had a debate about where to order from.
There was a phone situation where it wouldn't stop ringing.
They were back in the OG studio and asked everyone who knew the old studio to press 1 in the chat
Someone asked how long the stream will be for and they said it will be as long as they wanted as they haven't done one for a really long time
They ordered bubble tea and said they haven't had bt in the morning for a long time
Someone asked if they could bring back merch and they said that there wouldn't be anymore merch
They confirmed that the old videos will be coming back!!
Someone said we deserve an apology and they eplained that the past two months has been a crazy storm. The past 11 years have been but the past two months were a lot worse.
They confirmed its not a rebranding. They decided to take a break this year from taking videos because after 11 years they have nothing really left to say
They said they made the post (retirement) and were working on B²TSM. They learnt a lot and weer grateful for everyones hard work. They weren't able to make YT videos at the same time as working on B²TSM and were absolutely exhausted. They decided to announce they were quitting and then surprise everyone with the final videos. They said that in hindsight they could have handled it better. They didn't think many people were watching the old videos - hence took them down so they could leave the ones they were most proud of. They realised after that they were wrong about that part.
Eddy said that they read all the theories which were funny - but they don't have a cool explanation.
They decided to commit to their original timeline for reinstating the old videos. They will put up the last B²TSM video and then restore all old videos after the final B²TSM video is posted.
Eddy said that the final B²TSM will blow our minds. It will be posted tomorrow (23rd?)
Someone asked if they will still perform live/tour. They said maybe because they love touring and its a different vibe
Someone said that they should have just told us straight away. Eddy said that they wanted to share the final video as that has an explanation but also they understand they shouldn't have left it for so long
Someone asked what their job will be. They said that they don't know. Someone else asked if they will go back to the classical music world and they made a joke about being shunned by the classical community
Brett talked about the previous tour for a bit and asked people to sign up if we are interested in seeing them. They also reminisced about the NY show.
The chat asked about TwoSet Talks and TwoSet Academy. They said maybe once in a while they will do a TwoSet Talks if there is someone they want to . They were asked if it was forever. They said the break is for now, but they can't say they won't ever post a video ever again.
Re TwoSet Academy, they are still trying to work out what the next thing they can do to contribute to the classical world. They said sign up and they will post updates every now and again. They aren't stopping completely but they need to take a break.
They confirmed that they will upload the stream to the channel.

“Beethoven” asked in the chat who Brett's favourite composer is currently (Eddy was getting the bubble tea). He said Shostakovich and Tchaikovsky
Someone asked if this is a forever hiatus. Brett said that they like to do new things and after 11 years they have nothing else to say on social media, so they don't plan to come back
The B²TSM merch is the last merch
They took a quick bubble tea break and Brett had a straw issue because it was a paper straw
They once again confirmed that the videos will come back
Someone suggested taking a break rather than quitting but Eddy said that they asked whether this is something they can see themselves growing from in the future and he said after 11 years not really. He said right now it feels like when they left uni and everyone wondered what they were doing - its similar
Someone asked what about Brahms 5 mil and they joked about people suddenly subbing so Eddy has to come and play Brahms but Eddy said that he is just chilling!
They talked about if they do a new tour and how that would be a new show. They said that one of the ideas was a murder mystery show that they didn't finish, which was a lot of fun
There was a discussion about Chicago concert hall and people put different cities where they want them to go. They also spoke about Vegas

Someone asked if they are getting married and someone else asked if they would still work together. They will still work together
They spoke about Munich and said the Asian food there was great. They also spoke about the escape room in Amsterdam as it was awesome
They spoke about Liberation of the Soul and said that it was a big collaborative effort. They thanked producer Shaun for autotuning their voices as they are not singers
They said that if you see them out and about to say hi
They said they were worried that because they worked hard on the B²TSM videos, they would ruin it with their singing. It was hard work even with autotuning. They said we don't want to hear it without autotune
They said they would be open to doing more school talks
They asked what our favourite B²TSM song so far was and spoke about how much the videos cost (basically they lost a lot of money). They said they read comments about how they sold out to capitalism and were like “bro - these videos are anti-capitalist”
They spoke about the songs and explained that they hope it will encourage people to learn more about the composers. They talked briefly about the process.
Someone asked why no warning before quitting and Brett said “we're n00bs!” They don't have a pr team
Someone asked if Paganini will have a video but they said he was only a feature musician in “Dun Dun Dun Dun”. They said the final song is for us
Someone asked if they can host a q&a on reddit but they said they aren't sure how that works as they haven't been on there for a while.
They asked if people wanted to know the tea about Reddit. Everyone said yes (post 1 in the chat)
They said that last year during the busiest part of tour an old team member posted a lot of stuff about them on Reddit. From their perspective they didn't want to engage. They wanted to make one statment and move on. But within ten minutes the person responded with another long post and so many people were determined to believe they were horrible people they froze the reddit. They said they could have sued but it wasn’t what they wanted and the legal fees weren't worth it. They said they felt really terrible because the real fans had to put up with a lot of toxic trolls. They explained that a “fan” took it over and refused to give admiin rights back to them unless they could “prove” they could run it. So they now have nothing to do with it
Someone asked what their favourite anime currently is but they said they haven't had time
Chat asked what their favourite B²TSM video was to film and they said all but none as it was so killer to record each of them

Someone asked for tips on vibrato. Eddy said he had been working on his. Brett got his violin. Eddy said you need consistency, the right mixture of width and speed. He said that tension is also an issue. Davy joined at this point and they told him that their advice to him is to take off the frets ! Brett then demonstrated different issues on the violin while Eddy explained.
Someone asked if they like yoghurt. They do
Someone else asked if they would do TedX Talks. They said potentially.
They discussed giving a talk at Curtis and said how stressed they were when Curtis students were at the tour!
Someone asked if they felt sad or relieved when they made the retirement post. They said both and were really happy to read all the comments
Someone asked if perfect pitch was a blessing or a curse. Eddy said it was a curse of genius!
There was a suggestion to have a TwoSet Orchestra but they declined
Chat asked for tea on Ray Chen. They said they didn't want to go into it. He isn't someone they are close with anymore. They want to be friends with people who align with their values. He has done some stuff that is not cool and they've spoken to others who have also shared things.
Hilary was mentioned. They said she is great and has been very supportive. She is their idol.
They spoke about Davy and how he isn't fake - he is just who he is. They were genuinely shocked because he was a breathe of fresh air after meeting so many fake people which was getting exhausting.

They advised people at uni to go at their own pace and to not compare themselves with others. “Comparison is the thief of joy”. They spoke about how social media can make people feel bad with need for more views regardless of quality of content.

There was more talk about touring
Someone asked if they are happy now and Brett left to go to the bathroom. Eddy said he thinks they are (he told a story that went nowhere so he left that!)
“Eddy what is your favourite piece?” He said he can’t pick - there are too many
Someone asked when they decided to quit. Eddy said a few months ago
“Can Brett do another lofi?” Eddy said he will ask Brett
“Favourite memories?” They said too many
Someone suggested they start a bubble tea store. Eddy said they know nothing about making bubble tea.
“Can you make another Apple playlist?” They said that it was just a small project with them
People started pressing 1 again in the chat but not saying what tea the wanted to hear
Someone said they will compose a viola concertoand Eddy joked about “TwoSet Viola”. Brett asked why he let their secret out and Eddy said this is the no secrets livestream!
They were asked if they will stay in Singapore. They said most likely.
Someone asked what the best fangift was and they discussed fangifts
“Are you both healthy?” Kind of but Eddy has been sick for the past two weeks
They want to change the livestream name to “No Secrets Livestream” and someone suggested “TwoSet Secrets”
“Will you bring back IG posts?” They will try but they aren't sure how to do that
“What will your day to day look like now?” Brett sid thats a good question. They love exploring and TwoSet was part of that exploration. They love learning new things. They'll take a break and then decide.
There was an old viola joke in the chat. They said humour changes over time
Someone asked if they would a Vivaldi video but they said no becasue he wasn’t part of B²TSM

Where is Violin Chan? Davy is looking after it. He doesn't want to admit but he has taken a secret liking to violin.

Does Brett have perfect pitch yet? He sang an A and got it right.
What happened with you and Ray Chan? As a professional collab it was fine. But for a friendship you need a person to be genuine. Eddy then asked Brett to stop him if he was saying too much. Eddy said there was a time when Ray called Eddy to try to turn him against Brett. He also spread lies in livestreams. Therefore they don't feel they can keep him in their life.
Truth about workplace bullying accusations? See earlier, but they didn't think they handled it well - they don't have a PR team. They said the accusations weren't true. Back in 2017 they were making 150$ pm from YouTube and the team was tiny - but they still paid everyone.
Why wasn't Fantasia in your favourite videos? It just didn't come out the way they wanted. It was their first time doing something like that.
Should I give up piano? NO!

Did you have time for significant others? They read that as friends and family and said yes. They spoke about the importance of friendship and said you just need a few proper friends.
How did you maintain such a good friendship through stress? Stress shows how strong the friendship is.

How to deal with copy strikes? Very difficult.
What happened between you and Jordan? There was a contract and they paid him (not much but they did pay him). It was their bad assessment of people. They had different value systems. They thought he was a friend, but he also started to use their platform to become famous. They were all very conflict avoident. There was a discussion about people’s expectations and how much people charge vs how much they expect. He wanted to take credit for Fantasia but so many people worked on it so that wasn't fair. They no longer speak.

Do you compose? Here and there. They havea great team, but they are heavily involved in all projects.

What was “Thoughts of Us?” Eddy said he was just in his feels that day so put them to music.

Brett said it’s been a crazy 11 years - they never expected this amount of love and they are very grateful. Its been a great experience that they won't forget.
