Le Temporaire is one of our favourite venues in the Outaouais.
If you haven't had the pleasure, it's a collectively-run DIY studio and rehearsal space on the other side of the river in Vieux Hull.
We're super excited to help kick off their spring programming with Cabaal, STÜKA and Chastity on March 20. See you in Hull.

Last Ex is Timber Timbre's Simon Trottier, Mathieu Charbonneau, and Olivier Fairfield (also of Fet.Nat and E-Tron Rec.).
The project was born when Timber Timbre set out to score a horror film, but never used the material. Trottier and Fairfield picked up the project and developed it into Last Ex's debut record, 11 instrumental skin-crawlers that penetrate your psyche.
I caught their first Canadian performance (after opening for Timber Timbre on their last European tour) in Montreal last month. TT's Taylor Kirk joined them on stage with a double-neck guitar. The live versions were glorious.
Don't miss their live performance with Scattered Clouds and Evening Hymns next Tuesday, February 3 at St Alban's for MEGAPHONO.
Scattered Clouds, also on E-Tron Records, has some brand new material, and a few copies of their previously unheard new record 'The First Empire'.
Stay tuned to Debaser's social media today, as we will be giving away a couple day passes to MEGAPHONO on Tuesday February 3. That means you can also catch Fet.Nat perform with The Yips later that evening at House of TARG.
Debaser and Weird Canada are conjuring up the usual tricks next Thursday, January 22 at Come Up To My Room at the Gladstone Hotel (1214 Queen St W).
MATROX, Wolfcow, Castle If and DJ Garbage Body (aka Julie Reich from Bile Sister) are performing! Magic will be made!
Julia Dickens made this truly fantastic poster!
If you didn't get a chance to pick up a copy this weekend, Fryq: the Zine, Vol. 1: GIRL PUNX & Accessibility in Ottawa is now available online! We still have a few copies left, so send us a note if you want one. Soon to be available in the Wyrd Distro, and at Lily Pepper's zine racks across town.

Some more info on our guests:
Marie LeBlanc Flanagan is the founder of Wyrd Arts Initiatives, a nationwide nonprofit dedicated to encouraging, documenting, and connecting creative expression across Canada.
As the executive director of Wyrd Arts Initiatives she obtained a 50K grant to build a curated online store and distro for emerging Canadian musicians; recruited 400 new volunteers (from British Colombia to Nunavut); transitioned www.weirdcanada.com to bilingualism, ran a successful drive to win "Best Independent Music Website in Canada" (CBC3) and introduced policy and dialogue relating to responsive community building, knowledge sharing, openness and inclusivity.
Lily Pepper makes zines, writes about zines at zine-reviews.tumblr.com, and runs the zine racks at Pressed and Gabba Hey. A sometimes reluctant Ottawa booster, they contribute to Apt613.ca and edited the zine YOW! Ottawa Writers Write About Ottawa. They are interested in friendship, support, radical histories, trauma, vulnerability, and survival.
Chris Binkowski is an Ottawa based artist who has been going to shows for nearly twenty years. As someone who uses a power wheelchair for mobility he has plenty of experience using backdoors, service elevators or even getting lifted in to concert venues. He is a volunteer on the Accessibility Team at both Bluesfest and Folkfest. Chris recently founded Accessibility For Humanity and assisted Pressed Cafe with acquiring two portable ramps to become an accessible venue. Under the Bucko moniker, he creates electronic music with a mobile sound and light system. He has performed at Nuit Blanche, Chinatown Remixed Festival, Arboretum Festival and Pressed Cafe.

Elsa Mirzaei is an intersectional & brown feminist whose interests lie within challenging the white supremacy common in fringe and music scenes. She has also spoken out about the barriers with navigating the mental health systems as a survivor of sexual violence and is passionate about fighting the disproportionate experiences of violence and injustice faced by folks of colour within Canada. In her spare time, she tends to cry about school and write music.
Sacha KW is a writer and an animorph. He's been attending shows, interviewing bands and writing freelance since he was fourteen. His zine Pancake is available at Pressed and Gabba Hey.
Stéphanie St-Jean Aubre of { l'ensemble vide } designed and printed these awesome t-shirts for the one year anniversary of Fryquency!
You can get your own on December 6 at Fryquency events at Mugshots, at Raw Sugar, and at the Gabba Hey Holiday Craftsale (where you can find lots more cool stuff by Stéph!)
Supply is limited! Get em while you can!
