Week 7. Experitmental. 

This week was just me experimenting with different techniques of taking photos and editing photos. In the first one, I found a tutorial on how to black out eyes, because as a kid, I was horrified and scared whenever a show or movie had that. But as I grew older, and started to like darker topics, I found it really cool and a look that I want to do. Its kind of like eye ball tattoos. They look strange and scary and not everyone like it, but it attract an audience for sure. I wish I could have used some more of my film photography for this week, but I have a lot of undeveloped rolls and not a lot of money.

Week 6. Night

This week was my night shoot. I like shooting better at night or low light, but I don’t have my own mono/tripod so a lot of pictures come out of focus or blurred because of my shutter speed. I was happy with some of these though. I didn’t get to use a lot of street wear pieces like usual, but I did sneak in a few. You might be confused on why I have this mask or what the point of it is, but it’s just an aesthetic I like. I like the hidden face and I like the feeling of being behind a mask. We all wear our own masks everyday and hide our demons behind them, so why not wear an actual mask to hide them.

Week 5. Self Portrait. 

High resolution selfies. This week I had to take photos of myself. I’m an alright looking guy I think, but I don’t like to be in front of the camera. As much I would love for everyone to know my face, I just don’t like it. I love my tattoos and once I get more I think I would be more comfortable in front of a camera. I like showing them off, I want people to ask about them. Thats also why I buy all this Supreme. So I can feel comfortable and it gives me a sense of materialistic happiness. 

Week 4. Autumn. 

See that plate? Thats a $100USD plate that broke while being shipped to me. I was planning on reselling it, but I never even got the chance. The plate was a part of Supreme’s F/W (Fall/ Winter) collection this year. I got a few other pieces from the drop too. F/W collections are always the best because companies always drop their sweaters and jackets. I like the weather when it’s cooler and I can wear jeans and a sweater.

Week 3. Black and White. 

Logos. Brands. Hype. What you wear, how you wear it, what brands you’re wearing. They can all define you. Gucci, Louis, Supreme, CK, Tommy. I started with a focus of some brands to open my pictures up. Then I finished with some wider shots with the same brands. I focused on the brands this week, because I know how it feels to get caught up in hype behind a label. I spent over $500 on Supreme this week, and that only got me a shirt, a sweater and a plate. So I get why, and how people get caught up in the hype. Its your choice to do so, and your choice to avoid it. I feel life is too short to not do want you want. Going out and doing something you want or buying something you want is a much better way to live, compared to an easy, going along the lines, life.

Scars 2Week 2. Architecture.

Skateable architecture. Everywhere I go, every new city, old city, doesn’t really matter, I’m just looking for spots that I could skate or that could be skated. Thats a huge part of street skating. Just like when you spot a perfect spot for a photo, these spots can feel like the holy grail. This week this is what I highlighted in my photos. The last photo is my absolute favourite spot in Windsor. The lighting at night is natural and could create an amazing part in a skate video. Its been skated by others and the skate guards were removed from it to make it skateable. In the image above that one, you can see the guards I’m talking about. Architects make it so skaters can’t skate spots, and are told to do so by cities. This is why skaters must find their own street spots and use the environment to the best of their ability.

WEEK 1. Event.

This week, my task was to shoot an event, and I covered the local Windsor event, Dropped on Drouillard. This small Windsor festival is an urban street sale, that had many different artists and booths. What captivated me the most was the Free Skate area they had set up. I recognized some people from just going around Windsor and even seen some people the next day skating. Skateboarding has been a big part of my life and even though I’m not the greatest skater, it’s still something that can help me blow some stress off or get out with friends. The fashion behind skating has always been something I kept, even when i stopped skating.
