Not really a song but recently I've been listening to Ren's newest album Vincent's Tale a bunch. Of the album I think Sunflowers is my favorite mb

Hmm probably The MaddAdam Triology by Margaret Atwood, it's a really good post apocalyptic triology told from multiple perspectives. I've read a few of her books bc I really admire her as a writer but this is def my favorite. I also really like The Locked Tomb series by Tamsyn Muir (gothic sci fi, lesbian necromancers in space) and am waiting desperately for the next book ;v;

I like anime and video games and anything to do with animals. Recently I've been learning how to do beadwork and jewelry making so I've been spending a lot of time doing that

Today's the day he's going to tell her how he feels..yes he could feel it. All he has to do is say 'Botan I like you'. It doesn't have to be complicated..and it doesn't have to be drawn out. Once he had gotten her into his little apartment to enjoy the lunch he made he'd just look at her. She was cute, enjoying the grub he made. The longer he gazed at her the more he's convinced that she's far too good for him. Wait..no he couldn't think like that. Maybe it's best if he kisses her, one square on the lips and that'd definitely tell her how much he feels for her. 'That's right you can do this. You won the dark tournament four years ago.' He mentally encourages himself as he leans forward..and instead of kissing her lips his lips landed right on her cheek..almost the corner of her lipss. 'DAMMIT!!!'
She's not sure what's got her so excited. As soon as Yusuke texted her to come over, it was like her heart started doing jumping jacks. It's not like they don't hang out all the time, more so lately. And when they're alone together, watching dumb movies or walking around town, even when they're working together. It just... it feels good. It makes her happy.
The hangout is normal, Yusuke's put on a cheesy action movie and served her his own cooking, which gets better and better every time she comes over. Occasionally, she sneaks glances over at Yusuke, watches the way he excitedly points out a cool move the movie hero makes or the way he glows ever so slightly under her compliments toward his cooking. There's something warm about him, like a bright summer day. Almost like he's cute or something...
When she sees him lean in out of the corner of her eye, she figures he's trying to say something. So, instinctively, she turns her head. But the action comes just a few seconds too late for his intentions and his lips press against her cheek in a way that stuns her.
No way... was he trying to kiss her? No way, he was probably just going to tease her or maybe he tripped (he's sitting on the couch next to her), or maybe he was... uh, doing something else. Because there's no way Yusuke would kiss her. And there's no way that the idea of kiss him is making her heart beat faster, something warm churning in her stomach. Her cheeks turn pink and she stares at him for a minute.
"S-Sorry, what was that? I didn't mean to uh, bump into you? I think. Um, i-if you're just doing that to tease me, you better watch out because I'll get you back! Haha.." At some point, her racing thoughts became racing words.

"Agreed! I may be no Sea-elf, but it's one of those days where even I want to bask in the water and never leave!"
"Oh, wouldn't that be nice! We'd be like a couple of cute seals! I know pools are all the rage nowadays but there's just something about a natural waterfront that makes me happy."

I spent a little over two weeks in Japan while in college as part of a study abroad program one of the professors hosted with his (japanese immigrant) wife. It was a lot of fun and I particularly loved the time we spent at a few notable shrines and temples in the Tokyo area, it really was beautiful and I'd love to go back someday

Most of the mers appear in a fairly standard form, half human, half fish with variants in color and shape, some based on other species of sea creatures. They are able to take on a human form to navigate dry land but rarely have a reason to do so.
Botan in particular is described as thus
Long tail patterned with light pink scales and light blue and white accents. Wide, flowing caudal fins and a pair of pelvic fins at her hips. Scales taper into skin at the center of the waist, framing higher at her sides and back. Upper half is patterned with patches of pink scales. Webbed fingers and pointed nails. Elongated canine teeth and strong bite force. Face is framed with pink scales along the cheek bones and temple. Long blue hair, waist length. Bright, magenta eyes, rounded pupils in low light/deep water, vertical slits above the surface, light reactive to enhance vision in changing levels. Finned ears that 'perk up' when she's excited or rotate downward when scared or sad. Gills are along her neck, just below the jaw. Sharp senses both below and above the water.
