Inktober is fun π
Didn't wanna choose one idea so I DIVIDED the page ππ π
He may not be swift but he's trying his best! π
Hey everyone!
In preparation for inktober I've made an Instagram to post my art! It's dangdoodles if you want to follow :) I'll still be posting here too but thought it'll be better to have another platform to see others' art and to share mine! Have a good day ππ
I promise I still study, just having an easier semester! I'll hopefully have more stuff to post soon! π

(not the best lighting but ya know)
My Midori Passport Travelerβs Notebook! Basically a piece of leather with a strap that allows for customizable uses and inserts! I made all of my inserts from paper I had around (Rhodia graph paper for a monthly planner, Moleskine paper for doodling, watercolor Moleskine paper for painting, and some black/toned grey Strathmore for more doodling). Iβm super excited to use it!
Hi! I recently stumbled across your blog and it made me really happy to find someone else studying ArchE! I'm just getting ready to start it but I have no idea what to expect. Everything I find when trying to google information just comes back with just architecture stuff. Are the majors really that closely related or are they wildly different? I'll be starting with steel, analysis, and intro to arch classes this semester, so do you have any tips?
Hi fellow ArchE! ππ Architectural engineering and architecture are super different! I'd say that architectural engineering is between civil engineering and architecture (but much closer to civil than arch!). At the end of the day, ArchEs and CivEs can get many of the same jobs but there are differences in courses. (Any examples I use are from my university so it may vary) CivEs take more general courses than ArchEs (such as hydraulics and transportation) but both take courses in structural, geotechnical, and construction. Also, ArchEs here take 3 semesters of design which is like a watered down arch studio design (but with more engineering topics and using Revit which many companies want people to be able to use!). There's three major tracks for ArchEs: structural, mechanical, and construction. At my school we get to pick a specialization and take electives from that track. I chose structural so I've taken steel design and concrete design. I'm biased toward structural obviously but I loved both of them! As far as what to expect: STEEL DESIGN relied heavily on understanding fundamental concepts about steel and how they relate to each problem. This course was unique in that the majority of the problems were solved using the steel construction manual (tables on tables of design values and properties). I'm assuming analysis is STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS, I think the most important thing is to do a ton of practice problems! This allows you to see how each problem is different or similar and what method you should use (and the steps in each method). Finally, ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN was just suuuuper time consuming. The class was scheduled for 9 hours a week and I spent extra time there as well. In mine we focused on designing a building from scratch: architecture, structure, and mechanical system. We used Revit a tonnnnnn and built some traditional models as well. Sorry for such a long response! I get excited talking about ArchE πAs always, let me know if you have any more questions (about ArchE stuff or not!)
