I’m getting real sick of the subtle guilt-tripping in images like the original above, so I fixed it.
Images like the original above (which I have seen on my dash at least 3 times today) send the message that if you can’t make time for fitness, there’s something wrong with you, or you’re just “making excuses.” They turn working out into something you MUST do or else you’re a failure, rather than seeing workout at as a great thing to do that you should be proud of.
And the 4% thing is just plain BS. One hour is four percent of 24 hours, yes. But no one has a full 24 hours a day that they can just work out whenever during. First of all, let’s say you sleep 8 hours a night - gotta get that rest if you’re living an active lifestyle. That brings us down to 16 hours. Then say you work or go to school for 8 hours (school is usually 6 hours plus homework, and normal work day is 8 hours). Now you have 8 hours remaining for your actual “day.” Not to mention that a one hour workout takes more than an hour, because you have to get ready for the gym, get to the gym, do your workout, recover, go home, shower, change, etc. So it ends up being more like 1.5 - 2 hours of time for a one hour workout. Meaning that your workout is actually more like 20-25% of your day.
That’s a BIG chunk of your day, especially when it’s a chunk of the only time you have for seeing your friends, running errands, cooking healthy meals, hobbies, transportation, self-care (we all need Netflix sometimes), etc.
If you can find time for a one hour work out every day (or most days), that’s amazing. You’re doing a great thing for yourself and your body, and you should be so proud. But if you find you can’t make it to the gym as much as you’d like, don’t let images like this guilt you into thinking you’ve failed or you’re just making excuses. Put yourself first, please.

I struggled a lot this month but I'm not gonna let it bring me down. I still managed to more or less maintain my weight and I will admit that my efforts weren't as strong as they were in April.
The goal for this month is to reach 275.
