she is,    maybe,    too used to this.    the darting eyes,    the gazes turned away,    the guilt carried in the weight of it──    because it's always guilt,    or maybe some other kind of loathing.    she's merely a reflection of something more important;    broken promises,    childhood lost,    painful regrets.    the shadow in kairi's light.    naminé's hands tighten their grip 'round her empty sketchbook,    the pages creamy white    &.    colorless.    colorless.

(    kairi's heart had been the same,    despite its welcoming space.    overlooking the warmth of destiny islands,    but through──    a wide white window.    an inescapable prison,    a reminder of what she cannot have.    does she belong anywhere else,    /    but in that cruel castle?    )
