tidbits about my wemmrots : )

I'm not super picky about whether its Parbu or Wemmrot but I typically view 🟣 as the dominant one. I see him falling first, despite it not going anywhere romantic for a long time. But now he can enjoy 🦜 's company in peace. Just had to let things flow naturally, which is of course difficult given the circumstances they're often in, but worth it.

first,,im always super open to chatting about wemmrot so YAY YES feel free to throw anything about them my way i will very happily answer and think it over carefully.. and if it takes me a second, i AM getting to it i just have to get all the gushing out loud first HELP… i have to consult myself but i will try to deliver good food

second.. im admittedly biased towards kenfies over kww but i still love the three. i was already invested with the idea of kenfies in unstable before i ever got around to watching the kww collab,, so wato’s introduction led me down the watobu pipeline rather than kww in uu specifically. as for kenfies, proton was my fav episode for the looongest time and i made a whole au based on the whole “ken wanting to be trapped in her own prison” thing and what wifies being a protective character could mean if they were to be more involved. So you can imagine what them both being in the safe civ video had me like at the time… oh i love you canon compliancy… they were the closest i had to making a crackship if ken never returned LOL i saw a lot of potential in those two

the “prized child” line wato delivers in his debut ep didn’t go unnoticed by me though and obv the farlands thing too, so i can still see a uu kww poly situation but definitely more in collabs. ive watched most of ken’s videos & wifies’ content so maybe i need to get more into wato’s since im very curious about end barrens. though i guess this could also go the rpf route if you wanna talk about it like that instead.. ive never dabbled in rpf much but im definitely OPEN TO IT.. i mean surely wemmbu and parrot are both up to something in their joint hiatus.. LMAO theres wemmrot everywhere for those with eyes to see!!!

I designed Parrot while I watched ep 5… purely because I wanted to draw Wemmbu with him after the delivery of the “I know Parrot’s voice” line that changed lives… or one life and its me LOL.

I had to stop myself from looking up their duo name instantly because I have a self imposed rule of not being able to look at anything but the source material while designing,, with exceptions to characters w human complexions (im allowed a peek at the cc) cause toooo many mc skins are whitesonas. The white cis males will look however i want though ... But overall I don’t like being influenced by fandom designs since it takes away all the fun !! Esp for blob skins where the world is your oyster.

So, what I usually work off is voice! The texture of their voice influences their facial features, their posture, stuff like that… and the delivery is the initial expression I put them in… which goes a long way in how I shape their teeth or mouth moving forward. I feel like the way people communicate says a lot about them and makes someone unique : )

For Wemmbu, I had a pretty clear vision on what I wanted him to look like… and that was… chopped. Literally, i wanted his hair to be chopped up weird and in all the wrong places. Like : there’s something seriously wrong with this guy? I wanted him to have the look of a character who wants to be someone big and important, but it comes off as kind of annoying purely due to his own tendency to shoulder his burdens alone and make himself look like a jerk in the process. Early Wemmbu was cunning, manipulative, and had some kind of surface level idea of what it meant to be a hero. He wanted to “save” the server from Spoke because of impending doom, but he’s not a character with a traditional hero complex!

In reality, Parrot had the real “high risk, low reward” hero complex. What’s cool is that those things are still pretty true even 140 or so episodes later. I wemmbu want to stop (villain) but i cant explain why, so i’ll just let parrot wonder why im doing all of this while pretending im an asshole. also orbital strike cannons are still somehow the solution.

For Parrot, I originally drew him as a bird (anthro style) and I was super surprised to learn that most people drew him as a human, especially when bro was named parrot and everything. I still continued to draw him that way for a while, and i was a big sparrot fan in early s1 so that influenced why i give spoke animal traits too; I didn’t want parrot to be alone in his furryness…However,, drawing parrot as a bird ultimately frustrated me for a number of reasons… and (i do this a lot) but I almost wanted to not let myself make a human version for him because it felt like a cop out and like I had to commit to this bird forever. Then I thought…. How will they kiss… and i was convinced LMAO.

So the early human parrot design process began and he was SO ugly. He’s still pretty ugly, but in a way that makes me happy and not “eehh..” like back then. Since my human parrot’s features are all based on my og parrot version, im still grateful for that era of parrot drawings… I occasionally make him a bird still but not really in ship art! My justification for human parrot is that he always looked like this, but all the other characters i drew him with were just unreliable narrators who simplified him into a humble bird.

It’s a very important thing to me that my Parrot looks like the type of guy who can say “bro” five times in a row and in the same breath deliver a speech with conviction. The change that made me stick with humanish parrot for longer than anticipated was when i hunched him over… and i knew i could never go back. His bird form had never had this bad posture and it was beautifully awkward. So I could really hear his voice in my design for the first time and i grew fond of him. By s3 he forces himself to stand up straighter in front of crowds though.

My current wemmbu design didn’t stray too far from the original but I’ve chipped away at his round features over time cause i want him to be square… and big.. and look like he can handle two maces while still being whimsical enough for a tiara.

he picked it up from wifies. lol. he didn’t question why wifies was so touchy and grabbed him all the time but he’s probably just really friendly ! ! parrot already had a grabby habit but wifies amplified it, even though parrot doesn’t want his ass whatsoever. parrot buddy you do not need to grab wemmbu’s hand or arm to direct his attention towards things. if you needed a way to make him pay attention to you, that might genuinely be in the top 5 worst ideas

that unintentional comfort wemmbu gets around parrot is what makes them so endearing to me ^^ . they became my favs right off the bat with parrot’s first episode! the opening scene having wemmbu waiting at parrots house, parrot immediately sounding annoyed and wemmbu taking him somewhere that will interest him so that he can’t complain about the intrusion… so cute hehee.. for s1 i visualize wemmbu’s awkward behavior as him shoving parrot around and briefly putting his hands on him each time.. totally not cause he wants to or anything. all of parrots ep 1 dilemma being summarized in like two sentences in wemmbus first ep shows pretty much what i mean… he does not wanna pay parrots hijinks any mind, he wants it to be a little subplot, but this parrot thing is always (in)conveniently involved with events concerning him…..

there’s certain scenes where an awkward second of physical contact is needed… i just see it in my heart…. like the kings arc finale where wemmbu tells parrot he’s his second pick in the election (guy who just sided with parrot in front of everyone 5 seconds ago). he thinks hes soo cheeky i can’t.. he’s so embarrassing. another example being the stupid watermelon tower scene in pzam arc where parrot gives him a whole “this isnt you” speech STOPSTOPP.STOP oh my god dude theyre so weird. and when he brings wemmbu on stage during the election arc and tells the whole server wemmbus not a bad guy. GET A ROOM. they briefly brush hands all the time and the later into the series it happens the more they just stop moving away.

Egg had flipped through a handful of—what he’d consider—much more interesting chapters while finding the coordinates they needed, yet this page caught his eye? Wemmbu’s priorities needed serious reevaluation. “Beta,” Egg tapped his finger under Parrot’s name. The page categorized players into their secondary genders for quick reference. “So, we leaving?”

Whether Parrot was a beta or not shouldn’t matter, it didn’t matter, but the statement felt too ridiculous for Wemmbu not to debate. Wemmbu knew with utmost certainty that Parrot was an omega. Definitely. Wemmbu pulled away, an amused look on his face. “Think that’s wrong, dude. Better not publish that.” He moved his chair back, “But yeah, let’s go.”

The confidence that backed that statement concerned Egg. “No, it’s definitely correct,” Egg said, reaching for his desk light. He hesitated, the urge to ask bubbling up before he could continue. “You don’t… You don’t actually think he’s like, an omega or something, right bro?” It was extremely obvious—an irrefutable fact—that Parrot was an average person, just like Egg was. To anyone except Wemmbu, he began to gauge.

“I mean, yeah,” Wemmbu admitted, scratching his head. “C’mon, what beta looks like that? I swear every time I see Parrot, he’s thrown on the floor in the middle of nowhere with zero armor on.”

“Bro, so am I, hello? That doesn’t mean anything, he’s probably just broke,” Egg defended him, or maybe himself.

“Nah, he likes it. You get kidnapped ‘cause you don’t have a choice, but Parrot’s always in messes that he puts himself into.” Wemmbu assumed, though it wasn’t like he knew what Parrot was up to half the time. “He can’t help it, yeah? Like an omega, that’s why he’s always running around and looking at people weird.”

“He looks normal to me,” Egg closed his book, prepared for another rebuttal.

“No, okay, were you there when Parrot first came to our Empire and he was all ‘I didn’t know where else to go’?” Wemmbu mocked Parrot’s voice. “It’s like that. Like the way he does stuff and talks… to me.”

Wemmbu wasn’t dropping the topic, despite how annoyed he’d been at Egg taking too long to finish writing. Something about it was important, even if he didn’t want to admit it. Egg sensed an opportunity to pick his brain. If Wemmbu was trying to talk, then they’d talk. Egg averted his gaze, pretending to busy himself, “I think you’re seeing what you want to see.”

“I know what I see with my own eyes, Egg. I know how it feels being around him. When he pleads and asks for protection and smells really really good doing it. I mean, it’s a faint thing, but it’s nice and…” Wemmbu stammered. “I… Look, just trust me. Parrot has to be an omega, it only makes sense. He’s one because… well, because I’m—”

“An alpha?” Egg gave Wemmbu a knowing look. He hoped Wemmbu took the hint; there was no actual proof, it was all feelings.

“Yeah.” Wemmbu’s mouth felt dry, and he mumbled his next words, “Am I crazy?”

Egg laughed sheepishly, unsure how to proceed.

Wemmbu stood from his seat, cringing himself out. He didn’t need Egg to say it, a part of him knew. Parrot was a clueless beta who didn’t mean a single thing in the way Wemmbu wished he meant it. There was no underlying submission or attraction or anything, it was nonsense, they were never compatible. He gripped the chair’s backrest, wilting over it in embarrassment.

“Don’t beat yourself up too much.”

Wemmbu recognized that tone, it was irritating. “Don’t pity me.”

Egg figured he’d say something like that. It was far more likely that in the past, Wemmbu could have believed in the idea of a beta and alpha pair working—Zam was a beta, after all—but this time, Egg was sure Wemmbu made up his mind. It was too unconventional, and Wemmbu was prone to walking into the same hellhole instead of pursuing the road that may just pay off. He’d tried the road, it didn’t work. Even if Wemmbu brushed it off, Egg noticed his vigor faltering more each time he made the choice to ruin his own life before anyone else could do it for him. Egg opted to lighten the mood and comfort him instead of argue, there was hardly a use now. “Maybe he uses perfume potions and that’s why you didn’t notice he has no scent.”

“Don’t be stupid, ‘perfume’ pots?” Wemmbu scoffed, “That is a hundred percent fake. Let’s go, bro.”

“I don’t know!” Egg finally turned the light on his desk out, hurrying to follow Wemmbu, who was now fleeing the conversation. “Look, who cares if he’s a beta or not? Maybe he does like you! Just ask him.”

“Are you crazy?” Wemmbu shouted from higher up the base’s staircase,” I don’t want Parrot. I can do a lot better than that, trust me.”

“Realistically, you probably can,” Egg teased, “but the heart wants what it wants. You were already fantasizing about making him your mate before you found out.”

Wemmbu laughed, the conversation comically hurtful. “Oh my god, I was not!” His eyes readjusted to the sunlight of the outside world. Wemmbu looked into the distance, exaggerating his moment of blindness to purposely point in the wrong direction. He joked, “So, Northern Council?”

“What—Hello!?” Egg burst out laughing at the implication.

“Kidding.”
