like imagine them breaking up because they were too codependent on eachother and then they lose contact and never see one another till years after

they'd meet coincidentally at some mundane and routine place that the shock genuinely causes the both of them to freeze. wifies' world lights up instantly, as if someone threw him a bone. parrot, however, is fighting against his own instincts to run and never look back—the feathers on his wings ruffling from how riled up he is

it takes a passerby coughing for them to snap out of the trance.

parrot pov

parrot immediately tries turning around and leaving. wifies catches up to him first and years of "moving on" disappears as if it never existed

wifies acts different and all the same. the same glow in his eyes, the same slightly off centered smile that only appears with parrot, the same sing song tone that comes by when he's excited

and yet, it doesn't feel right—he feels too far

a bitter taste washes over parrot's tongue. so what if wifies already moved on? good for him. they broke up on mutual terms and they both wanted this

right, the both of them wanted this

parrot tries his hardest to do what he always seem to excell at, ignoring his feelings and keeping them away for a later date, and steels himself to not break down as they walk and make simple small talk

it feels weird. it feels so weird. this feels too comfortable, the years between them did nothing to widen the gap. parrot slowly feels like going insane. wifies was so head over heels and he—no, nevermind. they broke up, the past is better in the past, and none of this matters

so he tries entertaining the both of them. his movements detached from his head and yet he still managed to pay attention to every word wifies was saying. how pathetic can he get?

wifies graduated and is now working in some rich, big company with a good pay. wifies moved into a nicer apartment. wifies has been going out a lot. wifies, parrot's sickened head adds, probably doesn't even bother to remember parrot anymore

which is fine. because as he said, they've broken up. yeah, it's fine. he doesn't want to reflect why he feels so bitter about it. maybe it's just jealousy. probably. yeah, most likely

it doesn't matter that he wasn't there. it really doesn't

wifies pov

genuinely geeking out. is absolutely reaching ecstasy. sweet parrot, does he even realize? he's going to throw up his heart any minute now with how fast its beating

is what he's saying impressing parrot? he's gone ahead and did everything he promised he will when they were still together

a stable and well paying job, a nice apartment, and exploring more about himself and other people. he's grown, he's sure of it, so maybe parrot can realize that and like him again

what's wrong with wanting to get back and take care of his bird again anyways?

he's been aware of how disgustingly attached he is to his bird, but he can't help it. parrot is everything—parrot taught him everything. he taught wifies how to share, how to be witty, how to live. how could he not want to get on his knees and hold him tight?

so what if it's a little bit deceiving that he intentionally distracts parrot away from wherever his destination was and instead to wifies' apartment by silently leading their direction? he'll just let parrot know where he lives (near the place they met) and let his pretty bird's brain memorize the location by instict

maybe he could convince parrot that he can cook now and definitely is better than anything he'll get at the restaurants. maybe he could convince parrot to save each other's numbers. maybe he could convince parrot to spend the evening catching up with each other

and maybe he could convince parrot to stay with him again. forever this time
