“walk with me?” she whispered to the closest person she could find after barely escaping her math professor’s eye. “apparently the 88 I thought I had gotten on an exam was actually a 33, so just trying to avoid an unnecessary pep talk. don’t think anyone has the bandwidth for that nowadays.” 

Pink glitter stuck to her cheek, leftover remnants from her party makeup the night before, Freya was just escaping a bad date. She had cackled like a child as the man had attempted to go home with her from the bar, prancing off like an escaped deer as he slid his arm around her waist, pulling away and shaking her head. “Sorry. I think I see one of my friends over there. Text you later,” she had told him, heading back towards the bar booths, Freya quickly sitting in a random booth and huffing, brushing locks of blonde hair out of her face. “I told that guy we’re friends. Help me out? I can’t talk to him for another minute. He started saying all the things he wanted to do to me and my eyes glazed over. Like someone replaced my brain with a fat head of lettuce,” she complained, her now former date still eyeing the blonde suspiciously as he looked at his phone, waiting for his Uber to arrive. “Just keep talking until he leaves. He’s kind of obsessed with me. Thought he was going to yank out a lock of my hair and clone me at one point.”

‘i don’t honestly blame you for that though..it was pretty great to see. ’, yasmin responded with a small smile.

                    FOLLOWING HIS GAZE to the empty seat, arlo nodded, gesturing to the open seat himself. “no no, by all means, feel free to sit,” arlo doesn’t mind the company, it beat sitting on his own any day of the week. “didn’t expect it to be so full in here at this time,” he admits, a poor attempt at striking up a conversation with the other.

Avaric thought about the other’s words, a bit confused, before he figured out what Dean was trying to say. “You have a point there. I probably could’ve actually finished the song if I was writing it to avoid my Tchaikovsky essay. I do dream big, but we just don’t have to money to make a good music video. Not yet, at least.”

“I might as well tell you since you’ll probably hear about it anyways. I had a threesome with two of my best friends and now I don’t know what to do,” she admitted with a sigh. 

“If he’s a sadist, he likes watching everyone in pain then, so he’s probably not the murderer. Otherwise, he would torture everyone more,” she pointed out. “Just the usual for me. Embarrassing myself, doing dumb stuff, animals…”

“Hey, someone has to take that burden, and I guess it must be me,” she said with a laugh, grinning up at the taller boy. “Anyways, anything else interesting going on with you?”

“Maybe she should have been in some sort of comedy show then,” she said with a soft laugh. “I don’t know. I think you could have comedic timing. You just need to work on it some more. Your face is hilarious.”

                     “ That was bold. She really did take slam poetry to whole new level. Respect. “     Shane gave the girl he never met a salute then chuckles.    “ Looks like you had a productive night. “

“Does that count as poetry? I mean, I’m not exactly a literature expert or anything, but I don’t think that counts as poetry…” Gemma said with a soft laugh, shaking her head. “Wow. Everything else must have been pretty bad.”

“Great, you’re here! I need you to check this out,” he said, leading the other to sit on the piano with him. “So I think I have the bulk of the beginning done and I need to know if it’s good or not. It’s supposed to sound kinda like this, but with someone who can sing instead of me,” he said, starting to play the notes he had hastily written on some sheet music in front of him. “In my head, I play a supercut of us. All the magic we gave off. All the love we had and lost. And in my head, the visions never stop. These ribbons wrap me up, but when I reach for you, there’s just a supercut. In your car, the radio up. In your car, the radio up. We keep trying to talk about us. I’m someone you maybe might love. I’ll be your quiet afternoon crush, be your violent overnight rush, make you crazy over my touch, but it’s just a supercut of us.” He sang before running out of notes to play. “And that’s as far as I got. I know I’m overthinking it, but it’s just our first real album and I don’t even know what we sound like when we’re not just covering other people. And before you ask, yes, this is what I’ve been doing to distract myself from everything that’s been going on.”

                    ARLO KNEW HE really should’ve been paying more attention to the words falling out of the others mouth. but he wasn’t and frankly, he didn’t have a clue what had been said until an uncomfortable silence fell between the two and he had to put a pause on finishing off his yogurt. “sorry, mind repeating that last part again? i didn’t quite catch that,” he asks, brows raising with a small glimmer of hope that he’d get away with not having listened to the other in the first place. 

—— after being gone for a semester, it felt odd being back. as if she missed an entire year rather than a semester. she wasn’t even sure what people were doing nowadays. all she saw was a flyer about the valentine’s day ball and auction. she considered not participating in any of it because she still wanted to focus on studying, but thought it would be good for her to put herself out there. even just a little. “so, what did i miss?” she questioned to everyone in the room as she walked inside a greek home.

“You have a point there. I could get behind truth or dare cause it was supposed to be a distraction. If they were to try and do it again, it’d be fucked up, but I can appreciate it for what it was trying to be.”

“i don’t doubt that.”
