Faking something like Autism is disgusting and awful but faking DID to me is even worse. DID is developed as a coping mechanism from trauma at a young age usually 6-9 years old. Sometimes they experience amnesic events or gaps in their memory when switching identities or attempting to recall the trauma that caused their DID. Often at first alters aren't aware of each other, fight for control, or amnesiac symptoms are worse, it can take quite some therapy and support to handle it better. I'm just so pissed at people that think its quirky or that they can choose it, people with DID develop it from traumatic incidents or abuse and it can affect their daily lives pretty strongly especially near the beginning of development.
