MY COMPLETE GENDER IDENTITY REVELATION! 🖤🩶💙🩵🤍
Thanks to the Phineas and Ferb Instagram community & particularly my friend @feeling--pink & her yearly pride post chains every June, I now know the precise terms & colours to best describe my gender identity!
Henceforth, I now identify as a Demiboy/Demiguy who goes by he/they pronouns! Him/them is still OK too!
The following description is what resonates with me most, described in my own words:
I was assigned male at birth & was raised in a heteronormative environment most of my life, which instilled in me to "be a man" & act according to my gender role a decent amount. However, I didn't, nor did I wish to, associate much with the male identity or masculinity all that much. No alternatives to gender expressions were presented to me in my real life, as I was raised Catholic (now have self-decided I am a theist-agnostic). I consider my declaration of my gender identity as a formal rejection of patriarchal gender roles, with the barest association with masculinity, since I don't feel uncomfortable in my own body or particularly feminine myself.
Continuing, after learning about queer communities, gender identities & sexual orientations, I still felt sexually attracted to women & femininity as a guy very strongly, though my sexual orientation is still somewhat less well-defined (currently predominantly fictosexual, but I'm still exploring). I've always wanted to make more of a connection, but the term "cis-het" was all I knew, & while I try my best to be an ally in my actions (I prefer not to be in just words or visual flair), the term does create barriers of communication & fears that I may be too ignorant to be safe around. The inherent distrust is very valid as there is so much bigotry out there & it's my responsibility to earn it from my peers.
Happy Pride Month, everybody! This will be the most memorable to me & I thank you all for being so wonderfully supportive. <3
I've also combined my Geometry Dash icon, Clippy (the icon of the movement for standing up to big tech spearheaded by Louis Rossmann), who simply wants to help, and a blue NoCopyrightSounds visualizer to best represent my love for EDM (Electronic Dance Music) they've released for over a decade! One of my favourite things to do is combine as many of my favourite things together in one graphic design piece as possible. I'm happy & privileged to say that I've done it again & it won't be the last! o7
