suna rintarou has bad eyesight; bad enough to make a certain size of text unreadable, but good enough to not constantly require the aid of glasses.

today is one of the days he chooses to leave his pair at home — a decision he later regrets making.

it's monday and work has just ended for the both of you.

mondays are undoubtedly dreadfully long, but one of the things that make yours and rin's mondays bearable is the unspoken rule – an absolute must – of going on a short date after work.

your eyes scan the sidewalk in front your building to see your partner, rintarou, leaned against a light post. 

with excited steps, you approach him, “what’s waiting for me tonight?” and he hums in response, hand with a suitcase finding its way to the low of your back, pulling you into a quick peck.

“does a movie sound good? i got us tickets to see thor.” he says in response, waving the tickets to your face.

“thor? ... are you sure about that,”

his eyes widen, quickly adjusting the tickets' distance from his face to see the details — and there it was — minions: rise of gru, 9:00 pm, row G, seats #07 and #08. 

“wow, well our choice just went from action to whatever this is.. i’m sorry y/n, i should've double checked.” 

his face lowers looking down at his feet, a small pout appearing on his face. 

“cheer up, babe. i’ve honestly been wanting to see minions myself — i would have taken us next week if we didn’t today,” you reply truthfully.

“you sure you aren’t lying to make me feel better?” he swings an arm around you, pulling you closer as you walk side by side. “rin, i tell you everything. why would I lie about a stupid movie?”

he smiles silly, face coming closer to place a sweet peck on your cheek, “because you totally are! i asked gina from HR to double check what you guys watched that one night you had dinner, and she literally said you used the company card for a children’s movie!”

you’re completely shocked and impressed by how much thought he put into buying the tickets ( even though he obviously failed. ) 

“for the record, i still would have invited you to that hypothetical-next-week-movie for minions, rin … because you’re really lame and i know you’d enjoy that way more than an action movie.”

now, it was your time to place a light kiss on his cheek. 

he stops in his tracks, hand tugging on yours to get your full attention, “i like you, y/n.”

“shut up rin, we’ve been dating for eight years.”

“and yes, i like you too.” 

diluc likes to keep to himself.

he's never been a sharer — he personally thinks it's a waste of time, talking for who knows how long, only to look back at what he's done in the last ten or so hours.

he didn't see the importance in doing so, and he'd much rather do anything else; cook, eat, sleep, work – so it was particularly difficult dealing with you whenever you'd ask how his day went (which basically happened every day, the second he'd arrive home).

it's half past six o'clock and diluc is shuffling through his pockets for the keys to your shared apartment.

opening the door he's met by the sound of the television going off, eyes shifting to see your slumped figure over the couch, bundled all up in a fleece blanket with your pre-evening coffee ontop of the drawer.

“hey,” his voice low and gruff, breaks your attention away from the show.

you sit up, hand patting the seat beside you, and he follows — hand coming to place his bag down, sitting on the sofa shortly after.

“tell me about your day, yeah?”

he takes a deep breath, hand coming up to hold your left cheek, “you forgot about this first,” and he places a sweet peck on your forehead.

you pull away,

“yeah, no. your diversion tactics won't work on me redhead. now, go spill.”

a smile flashes across his face and he shakes his head, chuckling in defeat.

“today i had a salad for lunch, and a steak for dessert. kaeya actually called — he had some problems about his new fridge, so i went by his place after work. did you know he adopted a new cat? it doesn't have a name yet and he asked me to ask you-”

he gets cut off by the sudden kiss to his cheek, followed by another to his temple, then to his other cheek – until he pulls away.

it's his turn to pepper your face with kisses now; placing one on each spot you've reached, and ending with one on your lips, “ask again tomorrow, yeah?”

“deal.”
