best friends -- this is a little self explanatory, but the people that casey considers the closest to him. the people he knows he can go with pretty much anything without any judgement.

exes -- could be on good or bad terms.

old friends -- probably the people that he knew from foster care, since he’d spent most of his childhood bouncing around different homes.

student’s parents -- casey teaches classes to little kids down at his studio, so your muse knows him from pick up and drop off at the studio. 

enemies/frenemies -- maybe casey’s positive attitude annoys the hell out of your muse and casey doesn’t know why.

most people that cross paths with the bright eyed dancer would never assume that he’d had such a rough upbringing. but, casey’s positive attitude and unmistakable drive weren’t always as prominent.

things didn’t start out so bad, though. casey spent the first few years of his life in his hometown of busan, south korea, living with his mother and younger sibling. he wasn’t exactly sure what his mother did for a living or how she made money, but somehow they ended up moving to the states for “mommy’s job”. 

the family of three hadn’t been in the states for even a month before casey’s mother was arrested for drug trafficking and deported back to korea, leaving her two children to fend for themselves in the us foster care system.

the boy was only seven when his life began to crumble right before his eyes, now being in a country that he had no idea how to speak their language and having to look after his younger sibling.

the two children bounced around from foster home to foster home, some of them better than others, before finally ending up in a permanent group home when casey was thirteen. by then, he’d already come up with both his and his sibling’s ‘american name’, since their real names were too difficult for americans to pronounce.

since the home required kids over the age of ten to make money somehow, casey began to dance for tips at tourist attractions to make money. he’d always loved dancing, ever since he was a small child, and this being the first time he was able to show off his talents to people made the long hours doing so that much better. 

it wasn’t until casey turned eighteen did he save up enough money to get his own apartment by working odd jobs along the way, taking his younger sibling with him so they wouldn’t have to endure what he did. 

the boy was able to take online college classes, while making sure his sibling was doing well in school.
