"Home is where the Art is"
Open it with Behrad lounging on the couch playing a level of a game and competing with OG Zari who is playing the same level and they're trying to see who can get the higher score .
The person wearing the totem can communicate with Zari or more accurately she can communicate with them and right now it is Behrad who she is talking to (being totem master warrants a few perks)
Nate is busy schooling Z2 on the history of certain artifacts so that she can impress her investors and sponsors at the exhibition that is to take place the next day.
And Behrad wonders what it would be like if OG Zari was there with them. His memories of the previous timeline have been returning incrementally and he is remembering more and more about how close he was to his sister in another life. At this point OG Z can exist outside of the totem for hours at a time before it catches up to them. So she can spend time in and out of the totem but their parents don't know about the legends yet so they decided it would be best if she stayed in the totem for this trip home.
Behrad kind of regrets it and wishes she could be there. He compares life then to life now . He realises that Nate and his other sister are far too absorbed in whatever documentary is playing on television and the books they have scattered here and there . Behrad disappears upstairs with his switch and enters the totem to spend time with OG Zari. They have to compare scores anyway
They get to talking and spend time with each other . Sometimes Behrad gets these flashes and it leads to him asking her if a certain memory was from the previous timeline and she fills in the rest of the story for him. They talk and she lets him not feel guilty ,they talk about how the stay is with their parents and how the mission with the team is progressing. OG z has been researching in the totem too because she wants to help. At some point they leave the totem and he takes her to the kitchen where they work their way through all the sweet treats they can get their hands on
They're playing games in the living room when they "run out of popcorn" and her brother sweet talks her with his puppy dog eyes into pausing the game so they can make more .(he had heard their mother waking up to boil the kettle as she usually did- and the other two were asleep upstairs so there was no chance of Z2 and OG being in the same room at this hour )
Behrad wanted her to get to talk to their mother even if she couldn't tell her who she really was
Nasreen comes into the kitchen at about 2am and chides them gently.
They end up helping their mother make something sweet to eat (maybe traditional or just a guilty pleasure)
End it with Zari becoming teary eyed as they walk upstairs hugging her mother and telling her that she loves her Nasreen is caught off guard and asks her why she is crying
Zari blames it on the stress and her mother tells her that she loves her too and to get some rest .
Zari then turns to behrad and hugs her brother tightly *whispering "thank you "
"you still haven't told her about business school?!"
and then gets ready to go back into the totem. But B hands it to her ,kisses her on the head and says he'll see her in the morning. (When he has to take it back )
She walks into the room that she was supposed to pass on the way to her brother's
Nate had been half asleep, half listening to the commotion outside the door and the exchange with her mother
He wraps his arms around her and murmurs "do you wanna talk about it ?" *Kisses her shoulder
"That's ok. When you're ready " *wraps his arms around her tighter
