First weekend in a long time without going out to eat. It feels weird not being able to go anywhere besides for a quick walk outside (still very cold around here). I was inspired by @krocksinthekitchen to start a Mary's mini all potato and veggies diet. This is a simplified version of the starch solution by Dr. McDougall, witch I followed years back when I was vegan (before 1st pregnancy). I never went back to a plant based diet since then, and I'm not planning on being 100% plant based, but I do love this lifestyle and makes me feel great!
I'm doing this to reset my tastebuds and go back to a mostly plant based diet. I'll be recording this experience and make a video for my YouTube channel.
This was my day 2 meal. I ate the same thing for the first 2 days though.. this also makes cooking easy. 😊

I have a new YouTube (link in my profile) video where I talk about my experience with IUGR or low fetal growth during pregnancy, what means that my baby is measuring smaller than should be.
For now I'm trying to eat more food specially protein and fats. I still have my morning oats but I'm packing it up with more calories and trying to eat more in general. I've also been eating more pizza, ice cream, burgers and high calorie foods but I still prefer to eat healthy when I can by just adding more butter, cheese or cream to everything and eat and eating fatty meats instead of leaner ones... I'll see how goes.

My new obsession lately has been veggie burgers! This pregnancy brought me many surprises and one of them is the aversion to meat. Even though I'm not #vegan or #vegetarian most days just happens to be vegan or vegetarian. I try to keep processed foods to a minimum but once in a while I enjoy a store bought #veggieburger for a easy and satisfying meal. This one is #bocaburger and I used to get it a lot when a was vegan a couple years ago. My goal is to make my own, but for right now this works.

There is a new video up on my channel, (the link is in my bio), where I share a typical day in my life and what I eat when doing food combining!
This is one of my meals and is 2 avocado toasts and another one with hummus, tomatoes and carrots!
A nice bowl of oats makes the day a lot better.
This is my staple breakfast nowadays since I started food combining. Sometimes I have a small bowl of fruit or a green smoothie 1 hour before if I'm hungry, but not every day.
My skin was breaking out a lot before starting this, and I thought it was because I was eating carbs. I was about to go back to low carb to clear my skin, and then I found food combining and it literally saved my life (and my skin).
I'm loving food combining! I'm having a lot fun with it. I had to change a lot the way I eat, and I do miss some foods, but i feel so much better. Plus my skin is also getting better.
I just love trying new things and see how my body reacts.

Is funny how pregnancy can make us change our diet completely.
I was vegan before my first pregnancy and started craving meat so much that I gave up veganism and never looked back.
I'm now on my second pregnancy, with a previous keto/carnivore diet and can't stand eating meat. I'm now eating more like I was before my first pregnancy but not completely vegan. I believe we need the nutrition contained in animal foods, even though I'm not eating very much of it.
Pregnancy has its beauty and mysteries and every one is unique. I'm learning to deal with nausea by choosing the foods that makes me feel well. I tried my best to start my day with some eggs but it was giving me nausea. This bowl of oats makes me feel a lot better with little to no nausea, and I'm happy with that!

I made black bean brownies for the first time. They came out good, but I'll try out different recipes to find the best one. This one doesn't taste like a real brownie, but I was really impressed with the result. Ingredients: - 1 can of organic black beans rinsed - 2 flax eggs (2 tbsp of flaxseed meal + 6 tbsp water) - 3 tbsp coconut oil - 3/4 cup cocoa powder - 1/2 cup sugar (or sweetner of choice, i used stevia). - a pinch of salt - vanilla extract - optional: chocolate chips, walnuts, pecans.
