“What is it you’re able to do?”
[The Pro Hero hoped it wasn’t anything destructive. Those were, usually, the hardest for kids to control.]
“Even though this school is for older children, there are still ways I can help you.”
[Looking at Alex, he frowned again. This child was extremely shy, and everything about him screamed that his aforementioned father was…less than adequate, to say the least.]
“Um-” Well, he couldn’t really explain it. Despite knowing this is a place where probably far stranger things happened on the daily basis, he had never...met anyone else like himself.
Showing him would be much easier.
Spying a glass sitting on the desk, his gaze focused in on the clear liquid within and he raised a hand shakily. The water rose out of the glass, wobbling in midair as a few droplets made their way to the floor, and he brought it closer to himself.
He wasn’t experienced, not in any way, shape, or form, but with enough concentration, he could hold it for a few minutes.
His eyes darted from the floating blob of water back to the teacher and just like that, the focus was broken and the water splashed onto the ground, causing the boy to jump.
“O-Oh! I-I’m sorry,” he gasped and leapt off the bed, having over the small puddle on the floor.
xrasure:
“In a sense, yes. Like I said, this is a school for children older than yourself. For them to nurture and strengthen their Quirks and become Heroes.”
[Though, Aizawa was sure this boy needed much different help with his Quirk. It didn’t sound like he’d had the proper education on the subject. At least, not the education Aizawa was most familiar with children receiving. It wasn’t too bad, if the boy weren’t older than 12. He could still catch up.]
“What, exactly, did you have in mind?”
Hearing “older than himself” wasn’t exactly promising. Thinking about the fact he may just be told to leave after coming all the way here made his heart race. This man, a teacher, was nice, but it didn’t guarantee him a spot at the school.
“I, um... I just need help.” He swung his legs off the side of the bed, kicking and keeping his eyes trained on the floor uncomfortably. “I-I have this power and I don’t know what to do about it.”
xrasure:
[Aizawa had a small frown on his face, but he didn’t want Alex to see that. In his mind, he was wrestling with whether it was best to wait for the morning or contact the authorities now. If the boy wasn’t speaking Japanese now, it was likely he didn’t speak it at all. Maybe his father had moved here?]
“Um…”
[Trying to distance himself from those thoughts for a moment, the Pro Hero focused on where the child would sleep. Aizawa’s living space was fairly bare. His desk, with the computer he did work on, was against a wall. There was a small refrigerator like the students’ dorms, and a bed. Of course, he had his sleeping bag laying next to his desk. Other than that, there weren’t many personal touches or belongings around. This wasn’t an amazing place for kids.]
“If you want to sleep, you can use the bed. Or I could get some food for you if you’re hungry-”
[Aizawa would sleep on the ground. His sleeping bag was comfortable enough, at least.]
He was quite hungry, having not eaten since far earlier in the day, but sharing the man’s residence seemed like enough of a burden. The boy didn’t want to make it worse by asking for a meal.
“I’m okay.” He would, however, take him up on the offer of the bed. Alex went over and hauled himself up onto the mattress, settling on top comfortably upright.
Fidgeting nervously in his lap, he frowned and looked over at the older man. “Um, was I right though...? You help people with super powers?”

a shrug , and he slid elbows onto the table , meeting the other man in the middle of the table . his eye lay half lidded . laurette was certainly not what he expected this time of night , but he wasn’t unwanted . anything but , if he was to be honest with himself . the elf was good company , on any front . ( it wasn’t the alcohol speaking , hopefully ) . nicholas smiled . it was the infectious sort , unable to be contained .
‘ ‘ getting drunk . ‘ ‘ his tone was jovial , and he leaned closer to laurette . at that point they might as well be brushing noses , how close they were . perhaps he was hoping for something similar to their last encounter . well . not perhaps . nicholas was hoping for it . he liked the intimacy he had felt with laurette , and he liked everything else that came with it . call him desperate ( and less than sober ) , but he was ready to offer that to the elf at this moment .
“Want to treat me to a drink?” The response the mage received was a grin, not usually something the elf did, but the alcohol was really taking hold now and it wasn’t as if he hasn’t persuaded a few other men in the bar to buy him drinks already that night.
Laurette sat back in the booth to finish off the rest of the bottle and sit it on the table, leaning back with a hand over his lap. “I could use a little more.”
@dfctve
The room was already spinning a bit and the music from the band in the corner warped as Laurette made his way across the bar, but that wasn’t going to stop him from having a few more drinks before he finally went home.
That was his main focus until his gaze landed on a familiar face sitting at one of the booths, the mound of bright purple completely unmistakable. Despite his better judgement, the small man swung himself into the opposite seat, a bottle of beer in his left hand.
“Hey.” He was already fairly drunk, given the tinge of red on his face and the overly happy demeanor. The man leaned forward and propped his elbows on the table, listening intently for a response. “What are you doing here?”
xrasure:
“I’m Aizawa Shouta, but most people know me by my Hero name, Eraserhead.”
[Aizawa opened a door to allow Alex into the teachers dorms. This kid was so…quiet. And if he claimed his father didn’t want him, he didn’t want to think about how life was for Alex before this point.]
“We’re going to where I stay. You’re tired, right?”
“Yes.” Running for so long had been exhausting and the stress of thinking every car moving behind him was someone waiting to take him back to his father had drained his energy.
The more time the boy spent on his feet, the more he looked like he might tip over. “O-Okay... Nice to meet you.” With a cold hand, he brushed the strawberry blonde curls out of his face, keeping his gaze trained on the ground.
[In turn, Aizawa stood as well. A pain went through his chest when the boy spoke about his father. It just wasn’t right.]
“So you really don’t have anywhere else.”
[Seeing how scared and cold the boy was, he could only assume he was tired as well. Even if the police should be the ones taking care of the child, Aizawa couldn’t make that happen this late at night for the child. Waiting until at least the morning was for the best.]
“…here. Come inside. You shouldn’t stay out here in the cold.”
[Aizawa tilted his head towards the building he’d come from, slowly beginning to walk back inside.]
“O-Okay.” Nodding, the boy put his hands in his pockets and started after the man, having to jog to catch up. “Where are we going?” Perhaps he would be able to go inside the school?
“O-Oh, I’m Alex, by the way.” His voice grew timid as he tacked on his name, suddenly feeling very awkward with the whole interaction.
[His brows knit together as he observed the boy. It was clear he was afraid, and cold.]
“Well…”
[Crouching in front of the child, Aizawa’s stern gaze grew softer. The last thing he wanted was to scare a child in need off, even if this really wasn’t the best place for him to have come.]
“We do help students with Quirks become Heroes, but you’re younger than our students here.”
[And Aizawa knew that probably wasn’t the type of help this kid needed.]
“You had nowhere else? Where are your parents?”
Alex rose to his feet, folding his arms and pulling the leather jacket he wore tighter around his small form. His eyes tilted down, not wanting to meet the other man’s.
“I-I don’t know where my mom is a-and my dad...” Well, the truth was he had been left alone in the car for far too long and the door was open. That had been his chance. He got out and he just...ran.
“I don’t know. He doesn’t want me.” It wasn’t exactly a lie; he was fairly sure his father really didn’t want him. But he didn’t have to explicitly say he ran away.

[Aizawa hadn’t slept. Not yet. He had plenty of work to do before he could retire for the night. For the students, and most of the staff, it was another story.
No one should be out on campus. Students were not allowed to leave the dorms at night, and the security of the campus was incredible. Because of this, Aizawa was alarmed when the security system notified him someone was near his students’ dorms. Someone, apparently, who appeared to be a child. Despite the feeling of relief it wasn’t a villain on campus, the Pro Hero felt a sense of dread grow in him. What was a child doing on campus? And more importantly, was it really a child? For all he knew, it could be
Throwing his capture weapon around his neck, he left the building to approach the intruder. The child didn’t seem…alright. Shoving his hands into his pockets, Aizawa approached the child.]
“Hey. What are you doing here?”
The child, a tall boy, was indeed sitting outside the school, sitting on the steps with his knees drawn up to his chest to ward off the chilly night air. His eyes looked tired and he was constantly shifting to stay arm, his arms folded in his lap.
He truly hadn’t expected anyone to find him until morning so when the man approached, he suddenly felt very afraid he was going to be told to leave, in which case he didn’t know what he would do next.
Weak eyes peered up at the teacher, feeling his shoulders tense and his head sink back in fear.
“I-I...um, I...didn’t have anywhere else t-to go and...I heard you help p-people with superpowers.” His voice was quiet and small, tapering off into near silence. Surely he was about to be told to get off the property.

a warm tongue pressed to the wounds the other held , gentle pressure being applied . this was . this wasn’t going to end well , to be frank . wary eyes kept watch over the huddling body of his son , and ears flickered towards sound . the sound of water , the sound of rodents , and the sound of crunching leaves . they were nearly overpowering , given the situation , but a need to stay focused kept him from breaking loose .
the pup needed him now . he pulled it closer to his side . they were the only survivors of … the event that had occurred at their den . there was a hesitation in even beginning to imagine what had happened , visions flashing before his eyes enough to evoke trembling . a sigh as he lay his head closer to the one before him . what were they going to do ?
The pressure on his injuries, though well-meaning, only drew another series of uncomfortable, loud cries from the pup. Squirming and burying his face further into Nicholas’ side, he tried to get away from the tongue cleaning his wounds.
He missed his mother and the scent of their den. Even though he had only just opened his eyes a few days before, he could tell this place wasn’t theirs. His father’s smell was familiar, but not enough so to bring comfort.
The tiny paws ended up on the older fox’s snout as he wiggled closer to his face. He was hungry and cold and the scent of blood in his fur did little to help. While his cries quietened, he still let out small whimpers and pressed closer into the warm fur, hoping to sleep.

paws against dirt were a familiar feeling . different than grass , different than crushed and fallen leaves , it felt more right . it was quieter , as well , which gave him room to escape . a small comfort , given their situation at the moment . he wasn’t going to stop until the smell of blood ceased to flood his senses . even with fatigue wearing on his bones , and his jaw beginning to ache around the pup in his mouth , the need to run pushed forward .
it wasn’t until a yip came from his mouth that he stopped , nearly skidding to a halt . exhaustion was beginning to take its toll, and he couldn’t lose this one because he had been too tired to notice danger . letting the pup down , he himself laid out , eyes wary for movement . // @dcfined
The little one sprawled alongside its father, watery eyes blinking up at him as it was sat down. He hurt still and he was far too small to understand why he had a gash on his left shoulder and leg that had been meant for his neck, but being carried so harshly didn’t help.
Ruby was cold, tiny body trembling under the soft, fuzzy fur; the thick coat that blocked out the cool air was far from coming in. Still unable to walk well, the pup slowly pushed himself up on his front legs and drug himself closer to the warmth beside him.
It wasn’t often he laid with his father as his mother had been quite protective over him and his siblings since they were born. The slightly different smell in his fur was off-putting, but heat was heat. Burying his face into Nicholas’ side, he let out a few soft, muffled whimpers.
