One year ago today, I decided to get into DC. One year ago today, I discovered one of the great loves of my life! I've been a comic fan since childhood and have collected for over a decade, but up until last April, I was a loyal Marvel fan and nothing else. I'd enjoyed animated batman content for a few years though, and needing something to watch, I decided to give Superman: The Animated Series a watch.
One of the best decisions I ever made! I went from being bored by the character to becoming deeply attached to him and moved by his motivations and emotions. I was wrong about him! He's now one of my favorite characters ever, and after decided to dive head first into DC, I've discovered a whole mess of characters I had been missing out on who now hold the titles of my favorite heroes and characters. I would also discover Justice League International, another new love of my life and favorite title, as well as my new favorite character, like, ever: Ted Kord! DC has brought so much joy and comfort into my life in the short amount of time since ai've gotten into it, and none of that would've happened without the big blue boy-scout.
I was hoping when my one year DC anniversary rolled around, I'd have the time to draw something big for it! But I've been too busy with coursework and that just didn't happen. I did, however, have a little time this morning to doodle Supes for the occasion. I am terribly sentimental! Thank you guys for being a part of my DC journey, I am sentimental about you folks as well. I'm so excited to keep collecting and reading and falling more and more in love with DC.
