While this is not the first commission I've completed on VGen, it certainly is the first spicy one— and I'm really happy with how it turned out and the commissioner trusting me to deliver on what they were looking for with our charming Harlequin :3c

So behold! I have a feeling that I will be learning a lot about the intricate details of proper sound effects and crafting a good soundscape for these types of audios (and also how to pronounce Portuguese better...). It is genuinely a lot of fun to do! :D

I really appreciated these tags from @chaoticgouda because they point out something that I think is the cause for a HUGE number of negative interactions online.

If you make assumptions about people’s intentions when they are in their own space online, then nine times out of ten you are going to be A: Wrong, and B: a fucking asshole.

The original poster was obviously referring to the pressure that people feel to get cosmetic surgeries to be more aligned to the modern social concept of ‘beauty’ and that culture is incredibly toxic to a lot of people across a range of ages, genders, cultures and thensome. I think most of us can agree on the surface this person is making a personal statement against that toxic beauty culture without needing to go into extreme detail after an asterisk to say ‘but nose jobs for x reason and y situation are good and should continue’

Why would they do that? That post isn’t for everyone— its for the original poster and the people who can and do agree that ‘fuck, you’re right, no more nose jobs in a world that prioritizes a specific profile or shape of a nose as the most beautiful and deserving of respect and attention’.

You can take this lesson across the whole internet, for the record. When you go around assuming bad faith and negative intention without taking a moment to extend kindness and an attempt of mutual understanding, then you’re just going to be a miserable little bastard and you’re going to have plenty of people who will be rightfully angry or annoyed by you. You’re going to go through life utterly miserable, and that is your own fault.

A little kindness, awareness, or simply acknowledging ‘this content, post or information isn’t intended for me, my situation, or this very specific situation that may be related to what they’re saying but obviously does not apply’ will go a LONG way to making your internet space a much happier, less stressful place.
