It isn't exactly always planned in advance, at least not weeks in advance (-‿◦)

MY writer Arc certainly doesn't have much forward thinking in terms of MY plot (¬‿¬)

Depending on how the writer feels a character might just be a happy go lucky fella who doesn't have any angst or epic fight scenes!（＾ω＾）
