Gradually, Blue quieted, his fingers grasping at Caine's gloved hand.
"... Caine..."
He’d finally gotten the pronunciation right…if only Caine had the strength to praise him.
Queenie ran her hand gently along the top of Blue’s body. “Did your big brother scare you, baby? Maybe next time he’ll think about that before he tries to do too much, too soon…”
Caine sighed in a way that let her know she’d been heard and understood.
Kinger caressed the top of his head softly.
"Get some rest, kiddo... We'll see you when you wake up."
Rest…yes, that sounded nice. He really was so sleepy…
Caine shifted, nestling a bit closer to Blue. Then, comfortable in the nest of cushions, he let his repair subprocess put him out of it.
Queenie watched over him as he drifted off, her expression both affectionate and admonishing.
Blue made a soft, disgruntled sound, still clinging to his brother's fingers.
It looked like separating them would be a bad idea for now.
