Nope. Not that one, either.

You let out a forlorn sigh as you put back yet another hairclip that didn’t go with your outfit. One would think that with a collection of twelve clips, you would be able to find one to match every ensemble in one’s wardrobe… but this wasn’t the case tonight, apparently.

You’d tried just about every single one of your clips, holding it up to your hair and examining your reflection in your handmirror.

None of them looked right. They all looked fine, of course, but… they didn’t look right.

“Y/N!” a deep, low voice called out from downstairs. “It’s time to go!”

Your brow furrowed immediately, and you closed the drawer of your vanity which held all of your hair accessories. “I’m not ready!” you replied with a bit of a whine.

Brian x Reader/You Third Person P.O.V fluff/angst(???) Summary: (Y/N) is a flute player who attends the same music university as Brian, a talented cello player. Their horribly strict conductor pairs them up to play many duet pieces for the upcoming concert as well as playing with the full orchestra. Story inspired by the movie ‘Whiplash’

Music was a way of communication. It brought people together from all around the world. Music was a universal language that everyone could speak. But music was also so much more than that. It was an expression. It was something you can feel. It shouldn’t be restricted or forced; that was ruining the beauty of it. When someone plays, everyone should feel what they’re feeling in the pull of the strings or in the blow of the mouthpiece. It should travel through a person note by note, like a ripple of pleasure. Their hairs should stand on end as they understand what the player was trying to say. It should build up to a huge climax, leaving people speechless. Breathless. If everything hits a person like a tsunami then it was being played wrong.

imagine; DAY6 jamming out in the school auditorium, the late afternoon sun weakly shining into the dark hallway. Your feet are stuck to the ground (out of nerves, out of awe, you cannot tell), unable to approach the door separating you and the melancholy but upbeat music. So instead, you stand in the hallway, feeling your heart soar and fall with the melody, the song reminding you of an emotion you’d rather most forget.
