Mmn....
A-..... Angelo?
[It was Lawrence looking for him today.... with a tiny hairless kitten perched on his shoulder:3 ]
@trinket-keeper
Angelo looks up from god knows what he was messing with. “Oh hey Lawrence never thought we’d be seeing you up in the attic. You need something? Cute cat.”
Yes, and thank you. Her name is Spoons.
[He hummed, scratching her little head.]
... she's... actually the reason I came to speak with you... Remember our conversation about my drawer..
“Yeah I do. I can get set up if you’re ready.”
. . . Y-yes please..
[He nods nervously, picking Spoons off his shoulder with a confused "Mew?"]
“You’ll be fine Lawrence, but I won’t say this won’t hurt. You want me to go find you anesthetic first before I head to your drawer and get started?”
I would prefer that, yes...
[Lawrence pets Spoons, trying to aliviate his stress.]
Angelo comes back with both a bottle of anesthetic and a Lawrence’s drawer.
“Drink this and tell me with things start to become numb. Do you want me to explain how this is going to go now, or as I’m doing the procedure?”
Mkay..
[Lawrence trembles a bit as he takes the bottle and drinks it. This may be the most scared he'd seen him...]
.. T-tell me now...
“Alright. First things first, I will not be touching your body directly so you can hold your cat the entire time. But will also be doing everything in view of you so will always know what is happening. I’m going to be doing a few things, I’m first going to submerge the parts of your drawer in an epoxy resin to soak and strengthen it. Then I’m going to reassemble it and add supports to your drawer to prevent any sagging on the bottom. Are you okay with all this?”
[He nods, petting Spoons as she softly purrs.. ]
Mm.. o-okay... I'm okay with that...
[Lawrence mumbles as he hugs the kitten.]
“I’ve also go some blankets and pillows if you’d like. That way you can be comfortable.” He reaches a hand out and gently pets spoon’s head
[Spoons sweetly purrs as Lawrence thinks.]
... are they clean..?
He pulls out a laundry basket with blankets and pillows
“Fresh from washford and drysdale. They’re still warm too. I can dump them on you.”
Mm... V-very well then-
[He nods, accepting that idea-]
Be mindful of Spoons-
“Will do.”
[lawrence has become burried in fresh blankets and pillows!”]
“Have the meds kicked in yet?”
[Lawrence bundles up, making sure Spoons was comfy too... then nods...]
Yeah... they have... you can proceed.
Got it. Yell at me if anything starts to make you uncomfortable.
*With that Angelo got to work mixing together an epoxy resin solution that he submerged the disassembled drawer parts into to let permeate.*
O-okay.... okay...
[Lawrence took a deep breath as Angelo got to work. He gently pet Spoons, trying to distract himself from anything he felt while being worked on...]
while we wait for the epoxy to permeate everything, do you want to go over why you decided now to go through this?
. . . Mostly cuz of her. . .
[Lawrence mumbles, nodding down at Spoons as she kneeds the blanket.]
... Jerald pointed out if I wanna keep her I'd... need to keep other things in the drawer... then the idea occured that maybe... M-maybe I-.... mmn..
[Lawrence went quiet, averting eye contact...]
“You don’t have to finish that sentence if you’re uncomfortable. And I can understand wanting to improve yourself for the sake of your pet.”
Angelo sighs
“Dawn was in a very dark space before Duvet was found. Believe me it was like night and day comparing her now and then. If you want to care for someone you have to care for yourself I guess.”
. . . Mm. . .
[He sighs, kissing Spoons's little head, eliciting a soft "Mrrp?"]
... I want... to keep her safe... I never felt that for an animal... but... it's hard... admitting those... things... about yourself...Makes me think of Jerald... I- didn't tell him before coming up here..
“You should tell him. This is going to take a bit for the resin to cure, about 3 days until things can be reassembled and I can add the support and 7 before you’re at 100%.”
He lifts the pieces out of the resin and puts them in a cooker to let them cure.
“Can you try standing up?”
