One of the last songs I wrote before devoting myself to learning audio production.

This song has a summery kind of feel, and although the song is about pining for a loved one, it is a pining full of hopeful expectation and happy reminiscence….

It’s been a long time since I saw your face. Been a while since I saw a trace of you Three weeks since we walked the stony shoreline, too long…since we sat and rose with the sunrise yeah… And I, am sitting here, and I, am waiting here and I…. Am wishing you were near.

It’s felt a century since we talked all day long, and I Can’t find no-one who understands the way you do….I sigh The cold air bears my thoughts up to the heavens above. The sparrows hear my song and echo the chorus, and I…… Am wasting all my time, composing empty rhymes while I listen for your melody. And I am spending too much time, composing empty rhyme. While I listen for your melody. I’m waiting……….

I am trying to be selective in what I put on here, in order to make it as relevant and clutter free as possible! I felt I had to include this post from Facebook, as it is something that I really have struggled with, and realised the importance of over the past few years. It is true for everybody, but I feel it is especially relevant to any kind of artist. There are influences of many kinds, conspiring to make you compromise what you’re doing, in favour of what is popular, or marketable, or even worse;  giving up and ‘being like everybody else’.  This is like asking you to cut off a hand, or pluck out your eyes. Your craft isn’t just something you do for fun, but an integral part of who you are as an individual.

Not everyone can understand or appreciate this fact, hence the above statement is very fitting indeed!
