Skin Of The Night | David & Carla
An arrogant smirk pulled on the corners of her lips once hearing his last words, unable to let such an opportunity pass her without taking advantage of it. “You really think you are that good? Why don’t you let me be the judge of that, darling?“ she purred against his lips once he ridded her of her shirt which soon slid off her shoulders and down her arms, falling to the ground before she finally reached out, cupping the side of his face as she involved his lips in yet another kiss. And for the first time she considered that maybe he was really different.
Her free hand wandered from the back of his neck down to his broad shoulders, taking everything that was him in until she finally reached the hem of his shirt. The feeling of his body beneath her fingertips left an unfamiliar sensation, a tingling within her that just spurred her on even more. Her body molded into his, abandoning the wall behind her as she pressed herself against him, the fabric of his shirt causing friction against the skin of her flat stomach. Carla pulled on the fabric and lifted it, revealing his toned stomach in the process while never breaking their kiss. A purr left her throat as she nibbled on his lower lip, the hand that rested on his cheek slowly wandering into his dark curls as his blue eyelashes tickled the smooth skin of her face, causing her to chuckle lowly before deepening their kiss once more.
"Because I know." It was one thing to be conceited - another to dress the winners of the Hunger Games and being celebrated in the capitol. It was no secret, nor did David feel ashame about bathing in fame at times, but that didn't change the reason why he was a designer. It didn't mean that he enjoyed the games at all - or the way the capitolians lived. David's voice was low, husky as he spoke, feeling the sensation of lust rush over his whole body as he got as close to the woman as possible, pulling his shirt over his head to toss it across the room, carelessly, revealing the tattoo that reached from the side of his hips up to his lower chest, swirly artwork that featured a little it of every district in it.
Impatiently, one hand in her hair, his other made its way up to her breast, hungrily deepening their kiss, smiling of pleasure against her lips. Unlike some people in the capitol, for the designer, these kinds of meetings had a purpose, but sex was exchanged pleasure. His partner enjoying herself, that was what drew David to her. His hand traveling down her body once again, he unbuttoned her pants exploring the inside of them a moment later, not in any way forceful, but wanting, his touch gentle at all times. "You're different, you know that?" His voice was a whisper, a compliment outspoken in deep, roughened bursts of breaths. "Unlike most people I've met."

Long Time No See || Amanda and David
It was like a wish for her to be able to see her old friends again, old meaning yes, older than the usual people she saw all day - which was pretty much younger, and of course the friends she had been with since through thick and thing and life and death - and even til death did they part. She wondered how far or when she could actually ask to go to have a break and fly to Colorado again, just to see her old boss, her old friends, even the guard that sleeps during his time in the field… it seemed so far away though, with secrets to keep - kids to take care of- and train of course… it was taxing, that was why each and every person Amanda met on the way in her new life she cherished as much as possible, even thought it was anyone- she tried to find a good thing about it.
"You shouldn’t darling, but yes, a lot of people get noisy in libraries too, I can imagine kids grouped around a certain book, nerd-like people arguing over a certain subject, one person laughing to himself - from a chuckle to a bellow because of something he found amusing?" she said with a chuckle of her own. She could recall even her being a snobby little kid when she was younger and everone in her school library always were noisy, but then again, she understood that the other group of girls always had friends to share their moments with - while her, well… she was too busy reading to actually think about being sociable then.
"Ah yes of course, poetry and more poetry, no matter how much I try to read Dante’s works of poetry still though, I cringe and rattle my brain- not because I do not understand, but because I find it quite amazing on how someone can make a story with poems - very long ones to add." she said with her own smile. "But Shakespeare… I recall watching some plays- have you - ever you know, being a fan of books and literature, ever joined a play or theatre?" of course she meant even in school, he just seemed the type if ever to enjoy those moments. "I’m actually just waiting for something good to read before Mitch Albom’s new book comes out… it’s something i’ve been meaning to buy." she said as she opened the book in her hands and placed it back - to go ahead and find another one.
The talk of the attack made her mellow down, oh how did she remember that moment, but it did seem to be long ago, although of course- that doesn’t mean other people thought of it as such, it was probably one of the reasons Xander left, same with the twins- for their safety… it didn’t mean she forget them of course… “That’s good them, that you had time to relax and get back to your responsibilities,” she sighed with a huff of a light laugh. “I don’t want to go back to work, but then again, I’m not in any position to take leaves yet-” Amanda shrugged “and yes still very busy, I would just be lucky if my boss allows me to have a sort of Christmas break.” she smiled, thinking how near christmas will be soon.
To David, Amanda was an extremely interesting person. He didn't know much of her, but she was nice enough to come up and say hi like they had known each other for longer than they actually had, and David liked to consider her a friend. Like with most people, he was curious and wanted to get to know her better. He realizd that he didn't even know what she did for a living. A light chuckle escaped from his lips and he nodded. "Exactly, yeah! That's what I see here day to day. God, I spend a lot of time here." He smiled on, taking a quick look around. Since he had moved to Washington, this had been practically his second home. "Even though the books always fascinated me more than talking to my friends did." He winked at her, chuckling a little again.
"Oh, yes, Dante can't be compared. But Shakespeare just rushes into things too much. His work is not inspiring or very entertaining to me." David shrugged his shoulders. "I've watched a lot of plays, especially back in England and I wrote a few bits and bobs ... but I was never involved in an actual production. Though I'd love to." Getting some of his work pubished or even stage-managed was something he could only dream of. For now. After all, the initial goal was to live off of it one day. "What kind are you looking for? I might be able to recommend something to you." His mind already wandered over dozens of good books he had read.
David nodded, his mind trailing off for a it, but it didn't affect his friendly smile. "Yeah, I needed that, as much as I love my work. I never actually asked you what you did, did I? It sounds like one hell of a lot to do in your job."
Birthday Girl | David & Carla
She had found shelter. A hiding place. A safe place that was David, built by his presence, by the things he felt for her, the feelings he had evoked inside of her. He wouldn‘t hurt her, would he? He wouldn‘t do what men before him had done, right? Carla needed to be reassured and his hesitance, the way he looked at her whenever she entered a room … It was enough. The sweet nonsense that he always whispered into her ear. His arms wrapped around her, protectively, in patience, certain that what they had was real … It all was enough. Even more than that.
“I need you.“ she whispered, feeling his fingers pulling on her shirt before she gave in and rid herself of it, letting it drop to the ground. Only a moment later her lips were on his again, framing the silhouette of his face with her fingers as she silently begged him to keep still, to let her explore this new unknown sensation that she could never address with words. Carla breath in deeply, inhaled his unique sense, something that always managed to soothe her, something she would never tire of. Curious fingers were still exploring the map that was his skin, following his lead as she pulled up his shirt and over his head, sucking in her lower lip in uncertainty of what to do next. This was new terrain. Something she wasn‘t familiar with. And Carla knew that she would need his help despite her thirst for control.
David gasped audibly at Carla's words, instantly thinking it had been his mind that had played a trick on him. Those words, three little words, were more commitment in one single sentene than he could have veer asked for her to assure him of, it was all that he needed, in this moment, it filled him with the pure feeling of gladness; she was his, and in this moment it was real, it was certain as he ran his fingers over her bare skin, feeling a warm friction sparking between them as they touched. He was going to say something back, but the words slung together in a swirl in his head as his lips were sealed again by hers.
Exploring her skin with both his hands and his lips now, further, in every direction, covering every inch of her skin with passionate kisses, he noticed hesitation; something he rarely got from her. Need of assistance, especially in this field of expertise, was something that surprised him. Cupping her face with his one hand now, caressing the skin at the seam of her underwear, he chose to shift in position, directing her onto the bed, taking the lead as he got on top of her, snapping open her bra with an expertly but gently done movement of his hands. Another gasp followed, as he was stunned yet again by the beauty of every single part of her body. Slowly grinding against her, the Briton continue to kiss her, wanting to make her feel safe, take away all of the doubts she might have had.
Not My Story | David & Rachel
The smile on Rachel’s lips grew wider. It was true what David had told her. There was an interesting story for everyone to tell. Sometimes it was something so small that it seemed irrelevant in comparison to the big problem the world faced on a daily basis but it was still something interesting and would shine a light on that person. “You must have many stories to tell then.” Working at a café would be a good way to learn things about people; the agent thought but refused to go deeper into that thought. She was not working right now even though her colleagues might have told her that a Division agent was never off the clock.
It was a little surprising to the blonde how well she was able to read the emotions and pain that crossed over the face of the man in front of her. She had grown used to the desperate attempts of hiding your true emotions with varying degrees of success. After a moment or two Rachel had made up her mind about what she felt, realising that she was relieved to see that there were still people around who weren’t set on keeping their thoughts a secret. She was going to have to keep her true self a secret from David though and that included falling back on the cover story that Division had provided her with. “Kinda. I only just started and am not sure, if I’ll actually continue. I’m taking Electrical Engineering at UWEE. It’s a little tough but I haven’t really started yet, so.” She shrugged to underline her words.
Her smile told David that she probably thought alike, something he appreciated largely. There were way too many people seeing only the bad in others, not being able to look behind the facade or simply not being intrigued enough to even try. He gave a laugh. "I do have a few. I love doing people-watching." He nodded, then quickly spoke again. "Not - not in a creepy way, though. It's nice to get to know people better. You know, have conversations that sometimes go a little deeper than just 'Hi, how are you, what are you up to?'." What he didn't mention was that those people, the ones he got into deeper talks with served as his main source of inspiration. Or, well, not his main source, because that spot was taken up by somebody else entirely.
Usually, David didn't worry about other people knowing about what he was thinking or feeling, even if it was a feeling like this - the memory of the bombings clearly showed on his face and they had left their marks, obviously. Those things were part of life, and they all had to deal with things like these. "Electrical Egineering? I have to say I didn't expect that from you. That is why I haven't seen you around on campus. Why did you choose that?" Maybe he was asking too much now, but he figured that a question more or less couldn't hurt. He ran a hand through his hair and looked her in the eyes, honestly, openly.

Don’t get ahead of yourself. I can easily adjust my attitude if you prefer to get a verbal slap. Hell, I could even offer a real one.
Hey! That was a compliment.

Not My Story | David & Rachel
“How do you know to keep them apart?”, she grinned before letting her eyes wander a little over his shoulder, like she was mustering the shelve he was now leaning against, before settling on his features again. Maybe she should go ahead and just ask him where the café was that he worked at but somehow that would’ve sounded too tacky in her ears right now and she still wasn’t a hundred percent sure if she really wanted to let herself go in the conversation. All the different reasons why she was different from the people around her tumbled through her head in a big, messy whirlwind and it was hard to keep that from showing. Luckily the blonde had become adept at hiding her true emotions at a very young age, so it was almost as slipping back into an old but comfortable dress that she hadn’t worn in a long time. Inside Division you needed another kind of mask to protect you from being found out.
When he accepted her handshake with both of his she squeezed his hand tightly for a short moment before flashing the brunette another smile and letting her own arm fall back to her side. “Nice to meet you, David.”, she replied and seeing by his question that she couldn’t avoid talking about her interest in bombs much longer, she quickly put together a reply. “Well after the recent bombing…”, she paused for a moment there, for his sake more than for hers since she hadn’t been above ground then yet, “It just made me curious as weird as that sounds. And the assignment fit right into that, so I figured that I could just combine them, you know?” She knew that the topic must be a delicate one for David and felt like he wouldn’t want to linger on it.
David chuckled again, looking openly at Rachel, right into her eyes. The Briton had always been an open book - maybe that came with the whole poetry thing - he had nothing to hide, nothing he would rather have kept from people, like he knew many people liked to do. "Everyone has an interesting thing or two to tell." His thoughts drifted to the people he had met at work over the past week and everything they had told him; little bits and bobs about their lives. He soaked them up, used them to write at night. Every single person he met was interesting in a different way. "I know it sounds a little cheesy, but ... it's true." He smiled a little brighter when the blonde squeezed his hand, a sign of friendliness that not a lot of people seemed to think about.
David's gaze drifted off for a moment when the blonde mentioned the recent bombings, and instantly, he remembered the mess, the destruction, the worry and the outcome... "An assignment." He nodded and smiled. "So you're a student? What's your major?" Looking at Rachel, she didn't seem like too much of a typical student, but that's what made him even more curious. He was glad that he could get the conversation to go into another direction. The memories of the attack, those were ones he'd rather forget, as much as David liked to dwell in nostalgia, thinking about his childhood and remembering his father. Those ones, though ... they were tough to recall.
Remember when some idiot decided to blow up the subway?
I’m okay. Stop pouting, I am the only one hear that looks hot with a frown on her face.
Besides you always looking hot - suddenly you’re not complaining anymore. Does that have anything to do with my presence…?
Remember when some idiot decided to blow up the subway?
And today is one of those days when it just won’t stop hurting. And I am out of painkillers. I fucking hate this.
Skin Of The Night | David & Carla
The way he watched her, studying her features as if he was looking for something in particularly, made her feel uneasy, a startling tingle reminding her of what she had lost the day she was brought to the Capitol, kicking and screaming, scratching and biting. She had lost a precious privilege, something she had taken for granted and that she was painfully aware of right now. The way he looked at her … almost intrigued, an affection she would only be given with a client from now on, not genuinely and freely, but because she was cattle to be exploited and sold. No individual, not in the eyes of the Metropolitans.
And yet he referred to them as if he couldn’t be any more different from those people, as if he was living in a different world, one closer to hers than to them. Now it was her turn to be intrigued but a huff covered that sensation she had refused to feel in a long time. They were all the same. And maybe those denying it were even worse. The touch of his lips along her neck indicated just that but at the same time it felt so different from anything she had ever experienced. Glad that he couldn’t see her expression she closed her eyes, letting him do what he intended even if only for a few short moments. “And I assume you aren’t? Why should I believe you? And … am I not the one being exploited. Isn’t this the reason why I am here? Because you paid?“ Carla murmured, opening her eyes slowly as the realization hit her once again, wondering if it had the same effect on him. He played along with the Capitol, pretending to be unlike them made no difference when living a lifestyle she despised so much.
A lot of people thought of David as someone who didn't quite fit in with the capitol, and he liked to agree with that, even though he rarely said it out loud. Sure, he mostly agreed with people from the districts rather than the capitolians and he detested most of their ways, but then again, he was a fashion designer and artist, and hell, he wore long, blue fake eyelashes at that very moment. Even though he was different about a lot of things - he had grown up in this debaucherous society and he lived it. That was why he was in that situation, kissing a paid girl's neck.
But she fascinated him. As much as he longed for her, she was the kind of girl he would have sat down and scribbled clothes for. But right now, he was too caught up in her body heat, his lips trailing a never ending line down her neck. His movements were slow, but he was getting impatient, breath heating up, going just a bit faster as one hand tore at her shirt while the other traveled up, his body pressing her to the wall. His voice, though, was collected as he spoke to answer her. "Oh, I didn't say I wasn't. But I... have my own thoughts about this place." David lifted his head for a moment, meeting her gaze. He needed- that shirt- gone. "It's your choice to believe me or not. I was answering your question." With a couple of forceful, yet knowing moves, he unbuttoned her top, his kisses trailing further down. "But that's right. I paid, but that shouldn't be the reason you're here."
